get the next level up.  the HF ones in the $120- $150 range (sale prices).

This.  I've had a $199 version for 15 years now.  It can even change a trailer tire with the car on the trailer

(I hate that I know this, the hard way)

Crapsman jacks aren't any better than HF any more, and cost more.  I collect them from

friends, and have made one good one of 3, now.  And that took some welding!

I was considering this 4000 lb cap jack from Home Depot.   $130.   I liked the idea of the large jacking area if needed (trannys, diffs etc) and the safety pin looked about as safe as it's gonna get.  I still use jack stands.  Anybody have experience with this model or one like it??

This weekend HF has a 3-ton RapidPump steel floor jack on sale for $68.66

The Model # is different from the one pictured a ways back up this thread. This one is Model #68048. They say the reg. price is $159.99, but usually $89.99.

Not as long of a jack and I dont think it's as low of a profile. Looks a lot like my dads Craftsman jack I despise... :/
