Reposting to here cuz I don't understand if or how to continue a post on the blog section (verses here, the blog archive).  Okay, name is Larry, I have had my car (shell) for a long long time.  It started out life as a 72 tii.  I have never seen it whole.  I bought it as a shell to transfer parts from another-very rusty- tii that I also have.

While it is a disassembled state I figured now is the time to freshen up and renew as I go along.  I decided to start with the rear subframe and then move to the front.  After I stripped out the rear sub I cleaned up the underneath of the car.  the under was in really good shape with just alittle surface rust so I cleaned up the rust, por-15 where needed and then tried to just make the underneath something like it would have looked back in 1972.  Not too pretty.  Here are some pictures of what I have been doing the last few months.post-37958-0-81997900-1414276175_thumb.jpost-37958-0-17622300-1414276259_thumb.jpost-37958-0-64846700-1414276335_thumb.jpost-37958-0-06487800-1414276439_thumb.jpost-37958-0-26163700-1414276479_thumb.jpost-37958-0-37572000-1414276513_thumb.j

Thanks, Larry

In goes the rear sub frame.  Seen lots of posts/pics involving rear sub frame of better documenting thanI can do so none of them.

I do have a question about my job, if I could please get an opinion or two.  the munt that holds the semi trailing arms were a little oblong and my remedy was to get the Ireland adjustable mounts.  Now it seems I have read somewhere on here that I can now only use stock bushings.  True or flase?

The rear installed.  The differential is just taking up room, I have a LSD for later install in the future.  The bottom of the car seemed to be in really good shape with kind of a original air about it so I made an attempted at addressing the surface rust with POR-15 and trying to blended in.

Thanks, Larry

Wow the rear suspension looks good!  I really like that color - very nice.  That is going to be a great car.

Here's a thread where Jason re-did the suspension in mine.  Maybe some inspiration for when you tackle the front.

I'm watching ;-)

That's a reinforced front subframe, right?

Do you have a snorkel nose? If so, I'd remove it.

Cheers,

Ray

Stop reading this! Don't you have anything better to do?? :P
Two running things. Two broken things.
