Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Thread Help

Recommended Posts

Ahhh... over the fall of 2013 I ordered an AEM air fuel ratio wideband sensor with analogue gauge that needs to be welded in.  I think Jgrock had a great post on how he installed his, or maybe it was hack mechanic.  Either way, I have lost that bookmark and I am obviously just not hitting the right search terms.  I think I have been away from the site too long.  I also had a great thread (jgrock again I think) where he was trying to diagnose his air/fuel ratio issues for his Tii.

I will keep searching until I find it, but could anyone help a man out?

My sensor goes in tomorrow, but I am looking for the entry point in the passenger foot-well, the ideal air-fuel ratio (my brain says around 14 for the Tii.  And I suppose any helpful tips (best location, tilt up to minimize condensation forming...).

this is not the one I was looking for, but helpful on ratios for idle, WOT, and partial throttle

Here is the bung installed in an IE stainless head pipe. It is designed for an automatic so there is more clearance between the head pipe and the transmission giving you a nice spot to mount it and wire tie the cable to the side of the trans. There's a nice little nub with a hole in it there you can run the wire tie through.

When I install mine in a week or two I'll post up pics of how I did it. If I remember...

Jim Gerock's thread is much better than mine. I basically copied what he did. Plus, I installed mine when I still had the four-speed in the car. Now that the 5-speed's in, the location of the bung is in the way of the U-shaped clamp and bracket that normally attaches to the bracket that hangs off the rear bottom of the trani. For now, I'm running without the clamp and bracket. In the longer term, I'll get another headpipe, measure carefully, and do it again.
