Identify This Classic Wood Wheel

TimeZone

Recommended Posts

I have this wooden wheel for my 73 2002, and I've been looking and looking and looking for 3 days now, but I can't find a thing.

So I'm hoping someone here has seen one before. It's really well made, not cheap at all.

Thanks!

It does look like a Momo Indy, but the 5 bolts are not the Momo bolt pattern - unless the horn button attaches with the help of an adapter?

Presume you looked on the back side of the spokes for a maker's name.  If it was made by Personal, that's where their stamp would be located.  Personal also made some of Grant's steering wheels.

There were many small steering wheel companies in Italy, France and England back in the 50s, 60s and 70s--most of 'em had a maker's name stamped somewhere on the wheel or hub.

Regardless, it's a nice looking one.

cheers

Yes I checked. Just 4 numbers I can't remember off the top of my head. The horn button just pops out and there's only the 5 bolt holes in the hub, so it's not a universal hub, it's for that wheel only. Fits perfectly in the car, horn contacts are right, bolts right up. So Momo Indy everyone thinks eh?

Momo has a 6-screw hub.

Yeah I've noticed that. Strange I can't find any others that have the 5 bolt hub. And actually, come to think of it, I remember "made in mexico" stamped on some part too. weather it was the horn or the hub I can't remember (Wheel is in the car in storage)
