Throw it onto eBay and find out! Someone on Bimmerforums was trying to sell them for $300 shipped in 01/2012.

Ireland is selling a version, not new-in-box Bosch, for $180.

Depends on what part number it is. If its a "002" ID48x then not as much as it would be if it were an original "008".

This is not marked as an ID48X but it is a 002. What's the difference, Is it total advance or the advance curve?

ID48x is just another part number the "002" goes by.

And what is the difference in a 002 versus 008 is it total advance.

The curve is different. Total advance is very close. I haven't compared two on a distributor machine, kinda hard to find a new 008 to compare with....

I remember using a SUN distributor machine many years ago to re-curve an ID48X. You can bend the tabs where the throw weight springs attach. By bending one tab you can change the RPM where the advance starts, then with the other tab you can adjust at what RPM you reach total advance.

The curve / total advance is close, but different (as Tom says). I'm having my distributor guy re-curve a 002 unit to match the Tii spec (per factory BMW / Bosch spec). And then it'll be for sale. -KB
