Transmission Fluid

As Buckey says, this is the socket you need to remove the fill plug. I got this one from the Snap-On truck.

I ordered this:

and cut off an inch long piece from the long end of it (it's plenty long).  Then use that small piece with a wrench (offset wrench will clear the exhaust) or a flex head ratchet+socket.

Are any crush washers needed for either the trans or rear diff?  If so, how many and what sizes?

Thanks.

No crush washers because there's no flange/shoulder to crush them....

The TRANSMISSION uses tapered plugs and does not use crush washers to seal.  The DIFFERENTIALS do use crush washers (22mm) on both the drain and fill plugs.

...but I've never had to replace them in normal service- just don't lose them into your oil drain pan.

Doh! thought about looking underneath to double-check, but I was lazy.
