Windshield defroster blowing cold

Like the title says, the windshield defroster on my '72 tii is blowing cold. Does anyone know what could cause this? I tried searching but had no luck. TIA.

Does the floor heat work? Fan work? Probably the control valve.

I don't think the floor heat blows cold either. The fan works, but doesn't blow warm when the heat is on.

open the hood

reach into the compartment at the fire wall

while standing on the passenger side

and manually move the hot water valve to

the other position

if the hose to the heater valve from the motor is cold-

(of course after the motor is fully warned-up!)

then replace the thermostat

have recently done work on your cooling system--you have an air bubble in your heater that you'll need to purge.

If you check the archives on "burping your cooling system" you'll find several methods of doing the deed. One way or the other, that should get your heat back.

Hey guys sorry for no updates. I haven't really had a chance to check anything but I will this weekend.

Ok so I moved the heater valve manually yesterday to the open position because the slider that controls it wasn't opening it all the way. That warmed the air up some, but not as warm as it should be. I burped the system just a couple weeks ago, so I don't think it's that, but I will try that again today or tomorrow. Is there anything else that could be keeping the air lukewarm?

With the car warm and the heater control valve open, compare the temperature of the (2) hoses. Your heater core may be plugged.
