Bob aka ought2 in Maine is MIA - And i NEED my REFLECTORS!

Bob has a sticky posting on this forum for his plastic parts for sale.

He sold me a set of grill reflectors about a year ago and they didn't have any mounting tabs on them.

He promised me a replacement set about 6+ months ago and i have yet to see anything, or hear back from him after sending him an e-mail nearly every month since.

I'm pissed because i did an LED blinker conversion with his reflectors in mind and i can't complete the project.

Luckily my purchase was around $20 but my little project is in limbo.

If anybody can give him a gentle nudge, please do so? Thanks!

Josh, I know Bob and can tell you that he is a stand up guy. I'm sure he simply overlooked this and will remind him via e-mail. I'm happy to assist you in resolving this issue. Just e-mail me.

I posted this to try to get his attention. I have a handful of e-mails that date back to May.

I have been sending him e-mails off and on to get him to send them and with the last 4 e-mails (over the past couple of months) I didn't even get a response.

i'm kinda stuck without his $21 worth of parts. And bummed.

Yeah, i guess i shouldn't have flamed him out but still... after the 4th or 5th e-mail, a simple response would have sufficed.

I would completely understand if i knew there was some sort of issue that would prohibit him from fulfilling his duty.

All it takes is a little bit of communication.

Perhaps somebody should take down his posting until he can fulfill his orders?

It isn't about the $20.

I've been getting stiffed by way too many sellers these days and I'm getting pissed about it. I posted this on the FAQ to see if i could light a fire under his butt. But my apologies if there are circumstances beyond our control that are much more important then a car or a few pieces of plastic.

Josh,

I know Bob too, and he is having some family issues. Bob is a great guy and +1 to what everyone else has said about him being stand up. He'll make it right. Just give him some time. I'll look and see if I have any of those in my spares. If I do you can have them.

Hey Guys,

A bunch of you promised you'd check in with Bob for me... and i haven't heard a peep from Bob or anybody else. Is there a status on my missing parts or what is going on?

I still think his 'sticky' in the For Sale section should be removed if he can not fulfill his obligations.

Are they yellow or clear? I'm looking for a yellow set, brand new, with tabs long enough to mount through the grills....

This all well and good, and i appreciate your efforts... but i think my point of all this is that you shouldn't have to cover somebody's tracks.

If Bob can't fulfill his duties, his ad should be removed.

And he should have been the one to make this right, not somebody else.

Or at least communicate with the people he had outstanding business with.

I have been contacted by others who paid Bob and never received their items and just gave up. They are in support of me but didn't want to make a fuss.

And again, if this is a dire circumstance where health is on the line, then i'd understand. But that has to be communicated. So far it hasn't.

And again, his ad should be removed.

Did you order the amber/orange ones from him? Do you still have the original clear grill reflectors from your car? Depending on what color you're after, you could try a few things - get some clear orange paint (Tamiya X-26 bottle, TS-73 spray) from a hobby shop and paint your old ones until this gets resolved so you can temporarily move on with your project. Krylon yellow stained glass spray paint might work too, but you may need multiple coats to get it darker to an amber shade.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
