OK... I know this has been discussed many, many times.

Tried using search, but it doesn't like me. Each time I either get error msgs., or the screen just rolls back to the inquiry screen, or it just gives me 1 page of results (while indicating many more) and when I select pg.#2, it just rolls back to the inquiry page.

So, search is out. Forgive me in advance for asking about what is surely an oft asked and discussed question.

Have access to a tii head (free). Is this a good upgrade to my stock M10 motor? Have a 32/36, Crane and tii manifold (only mods).

Not certain, but believe all '76s (mine is Auto) came with a 121 head?

Do I need a piston swap for this? Does it use stock valves? What else would I need to convert to use this head? Is it worth it in the end?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers!

In my opinion, not worth it. Tii and standard head use the same valves and cam. So you would be better off upgrading your existing head.

76's came with e12 or late one with e21 2.0 head and mostly flat tops pistons.

There is nothing particular to a Tii head, if its just the fuel pump rod hole that is not drilled.

fwiw, a Tii sourced part doesnt mean automaticaly an upgrade or a performance item. It isnt made of gold.

If you realy want to upgrade your stock 76' motor, assuming its original (flat tops) get a 121 head, you will get a litle bit more compression ratio than with a E12 or E21 2.0.

...... and any "FREE" head is suspect

-Tiny cracking you bearly see?

-Warped beyond machining tolerances

stay with, and have your present head tested, resurfaced

with the upper timing cover screwed on,

valve springs replaced, reface the valves and seats,

measure valve-to-guide wobble tolerance, replace guides

if needed, replace valve seals.

maybe the "free" head is ok after all the above repairs - then sell it to pay for your orig. head reman -

or keep it for a 'spare' for your car in 20 years when you'll need one

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
