Cheap and easy Recaro webbing fix

I just recently bought a set of fishnet recaros that BADLY needed new webbing and at the same time I had a parts car with seat belts that had chunks of bad webbing on them. So my idea was to use old seat belts as new webbing. This actually turned out real well, firm and cheap. To hold the webbing together I used wood staples and bent the ends over. Working great so far and thought I would pass this on to you all!

I'd be afraid of doing it with something that has no elasticity... I did both of mine with wide bands of elastic for a couple bucks from the fabric store, wrapped it around several times back and forth, and just tied it in a knot. You can't tell the difference between it and real recaro webbing.

An upholstery shop can sell you upholstery webbing- it's effectively the same

thing Recaro used on the seats... works great.

I havent had a problem at all with em since I put em in. They dont really sag at all either, gives a nice firm feel.

1) Find some used Recaro seats from an E21

2) Purchase a new webbing "kit" from Dave Varco of Aardvarc Racing

3) Install with pliers

4) Be happy (no Red Swingline Staplers required)
