  1. I've been out of the game for far too long! I'll have to dig up the old BaT listing.
  2. Been a while since I regularly checked the forums Kris, but great to see this is almost there! Do you still have your Schwarz car? (I may have missed a story here....) Tom
  3. Here here! I think you'll find there are a lot of lurkers who frequent 02Faq as its such a brilliant resource, but most tend to actually post over on the 2002 Owners Australia group on Facebook. Both are great resources!

  5. Love to see some updates Gaz... although i'm sure you're busy with Christmas festivities!
  6. It has been about 5 years since my last update. Living in London and life in general have stopped progress, but happily I have been able to keep the car and fully intend to keep it for years to come. Looks like there is even a new 'blogs' area of the forum too now, and i'm in the Archive!... Time to crack on with this build! 2002-6247 by James Burrell, on Flickr
  7. Thank you all for the help nutting this one through - really appreciate it! I was hoping they would be a 60's / 70's period seat but from my searching over the last 12 hours or so, i'm constantly drawn back to the similarities between these seats and the Mk 2 VW Golf GTi (see below pic) seats. Any inconsistencies could be put down to a retrim...
  8. Hi all, I stumbled across these seats and I'm just trying to figure out what they came from... He says he thinks they are an early Recaro and I'm half agreeing with him in the general seat style (he bought them for his 912). Turbo seat for reference: http://germancarsforsaleblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/S023.jpg Early Porsche seat style for reference: http://www.lakewell.com/en/porsche/911/65-73/sport-seat-restoration-kit-2-seats-porsche-911-65-73 Possible someones done a resto-mod retrim? Any way to verify what model these are? Thanks all for any leads!
  9. Toby - thanks for the heads up on the T5 and the 188 diff too. I've already got the 265 box en route but will certainly look into the diff and do some calcs! Nick - Thanks for the pic - Looks a bit bigger and the lip there too, presume to clear the shifter linkage? Do you recall which mounting bracket you used / have a pic of the underside by any chance? Best, Tom
  10. Answering my own question for anyone in the future: Speedo: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/74578-sorta-ot-getrag-260-265-myths-and-facts/#entry440473
  11. They will look fantastic if you can keep the 1.5"-ish lip in the pic! Certainly great for anyone looking for an OEM+ look and not deviating too much from original.
  12. Hi All, Looking to utilise an E30 M3 265 OD gearbox in my 02 as I was a little concerned the 245 wouldn't last long against the turbo M10. Questions: 1. Size of the tunnel: it looks like the common thing to do here is to cut the tunnel in order to open up space (to gain around 5cm-ish extra space). Is this best practice or is it worth 'massaging' the tunnel first? 2. Speedo: I saw this site on a number of threads around the internet but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. Can anyone point me in the right direction for similar information if available, or share experience / tips on speedo drive utilising a 265 in their 02? http://hem.passagen.se/m2002tii/tech/tips/speedo_on_tranny/index.htm 3. Gearbox mount bracket: In my search I noticed a couple of people had issues with the mounting bracket / angle etc as most were from an e30 and suited to that chassis, but there didn't seem to be definitive answer as to if there is a better bracket to use to make the conversion easier (i.e is E28 less trouble, E21 245 mount possible?, or custom mount?) - any tips or experience here appreciated! Thanks all! Tom
  13. Stunning wheels - look forward to seeing them mounted. I am partial to RS's too!
  14. Spec sounds pretty spot on Chris. The below vehicle would have a similar setup being 15x7 et12 and what I would suggest be a 205/50
  15. Bill - I'm sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you from the other side of the world too. I remember many years ago now your posts during the P2 build and talk of your son in them, a special friendship. Tom
  16. Saw these on FB and the seller asked to list here. Looked to be in good nick! Contact Iskander (Sweeden): marc_barbara0@yahoo.com 320 Euro No affiliation! Location: Sweeden
  17. So long ago Mark - Hard to believe almost 8 years! We need to catch up when you're up this way or for a stint down the GOR again!
  18. Hows it all coming together Snowy?
  19. Choptop - In the interest of having decent tolerances I would recommend a spacer that will get you somewhere between et25-30 and also some extended studs. Post up some pics when all mounted up! Tom
  20. Welcome to the BMW 2002 Owners Club, Australia Group This group has the aim of bringing together both Australian owners of the BMW 2002 / NK and prospective owners generally interested in becoming a part of the 2002 community 'Down Under'. We wish to provide everyone with a place to find local information on these great vehicles. Everyone is welcome to join, and if you haven't already - also join the Facebook group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/316528471765582/ Happy 02ing, Tom
  21. Check the backspace of the wheels is the best way to 'get it right' the first time. At that width you'll likely hit something on the inside of the tyre-well if not measured up right. As a 'general' statement - You are suggesting a more 'extreme' setup for 02 standards, but I don't see why that setup couldn't be made to work with flares such as the pig cheeks. It might take a bit of trial and error with say, finding the right tyre size and right height / firmness for the suspension setup, but don't let that put you off. Best, Tom
  22. Hi All, Looking to buy an S14 bottom end, but will entertain whole motors w/ancillaries too. Already have an S14 head, so ideally something that would be 'good to go' / not completely shagged! Many thanks, Tom Location: Australia
