  1. Is there an exhaust tip available that extends beyond the diving boards? I have a 74tii. The tips available at Rogers and Wallothnesch do not look like they'd extend beyond the diving boards. Thanks
  2. Traces the history of this German automobile manufacturer, and offers specifications and descriptions of its most important stock and racing models. Includes 64 pages of color photographs.
  3. My son gave me these framed old ads and photos years ago but they only recently got hung up. My old 76 is among the photos in the collage.
  4. Looking for 74 style seat covers, you may want to check out Steven Sperling at zoomzoomzooming@gmail.com. I have not pulled the trigger yet - I need leather seat covers front and back to match my originals -- but I have seen other members here use his covers @BarneyT and they look like a good fit. Just a suggestion. Cheers
  5. I have not personally done this but in the maintenance log that came with my 74tii, the previous owner who had installed LED tail lights noted that "rear taillight lens seals were NLA when the LEDs were installed. Silicone sealant was used." For what it is worth.
  6. I did not see the one-time-only 74 pattern available on Lseats. Did I miss them?
  7. Picked up the original door cards for my 74tii that went to the upholsterer a little over a year ago for cleaning and repair. 'Very pleased with the result, a pretty amazing transformation and well worth the wait. Picked up the tip here on FAQ of using the Mylar tape to replace the "chrome" finish on the door card strip. The upholsterer also sealed the back side of the cards to protect from any moisture.
  8. @wegweiser is a couple of hours away but might know someone closer. Paul is the best in the West!
  9. Alpina founder Burkard Bovensiepen has died aged 87 WWW.TOPGEAR.COM The man whose company made the coolest BMWs has passed away. What a legacy
  10. Seconding @John76's question on the bumpers. They look amazing. What exactly did you do? thanks
  11. 12. My 74tii has a snorkel. I know the nose piece is not original. The service records that came with the car when I bought it in 2021 (they stretch back to the car's purchase by the then second owner in 1976) detail extensive body work in 1992, including a new nose piece -- with a snorkel. Soon after I bought the car, I connected with the owner of the body shop that did the job. He recalled the tii and even gave me a bunch of pictures he had taken of the car when it was in his shop. He also shared that he didn't know that a tii nose piece should not have had a snorkel or that the seams at the top where the nose piece joins the quarter panels should have been sealed. So not only is my tii snorkeled it has unsealed seams as well!
  13. That's a big number. Maybe I am not looking in the right places, but you sure don't see many around today with that many made.
  14. Nice to see that someone is going to save this car. I had a several large limbs fall on my 73 Bavaria in a freak storm a couple of summers ago. Not as bad as this car here but a real punch in the gut after spending a lot of time and money to get the car running again.
  15. @esty you may want to check out Steven Sperling at zoomzoomzooming on Instagram. You can also contact him at zoomzoomzooming@gmail.com. I found him here through FAQ. Most of the members who bought seat covers from him seemed pretty pleased with the quality and price of his product. I have not bought from him but have been scouting new leather seat covers for my 74tii. Good luck in your search. Cheers
  16. Second in line please if HoustonRunner passes. PM sent. thanks
  17. Is there anything more polarizing in the 02 world than the big diving board bumpers? Hated as they are in many corners, back in the day they saved my daily driver 76 Sahara from damage more times than I can count from drivers who could not parallel park to save their lives. It is probably why I have always resisted the impulse to change the boards out as much as I like the sleeker look of the earlier models.
  18. The 02 and tii market seems pretty soft right now no matter the condition or need of the particular car.
  19. I have used Montway Auto Transport a few times for my 330ci's though it has been a few years. Was very pleased with their service and the drivers did a good job of communicating on both the pick-up and delivery. Prices were reasonable too, $500, less if you paid in cash! Good luck with your shipping!
  20. I got to see one of these cars up close a couple of years ago and instantly fell in love. This one is gorgeous, just exactly perfect! Thanks for posting.
  21. Pretty amazing transformation. Your gamble paid off. Well done. Now go out and enjoy!
  22. My 74tii is 2781801, 5/9/74 build date. This beauty is the closest I have ever seen to mine. Where is the car posted for sale?
  23. @bavariaboy what is the date of Michael's Oktoberfest for 2023 scheduled so that @JQ02 is aware of that date when he schedules his Paoli Car Show, try to avoid double booking so people can make both!
  24. Here's the link (I think): Grit Cars – Cars for less GRITCARS.COM
