  1. The belt is only a couple of years old but I will check that too! It did run all the way up to warm up yesterday and now…only starts and dies.
  2. Hmm…maybe but wouldn’t I not have gas up at the top of the motor at the cold start valve? That is pumping out like normal. Hard line goes to soft line to filter and that’s all happy still. Also…it started and ran initially after the repair… But I will go look down there! Thank you.
  3. Gurus I need help! 74tii. Replaced motor/tranny mounts and oil pan gasket using a truss from above. Got everything back together well…now no start. More details…seems like it is for sure an air leak causing it to run lean. When I started it initially, started fast, seemed a little rougher than normal and as soon as it warmed up…died. Will run briefly on the cold start injector which I have on a switch. Replaced today the rigged up pipe going to bottom of intake on back of Wur which needed to happen with new bmw hose all tightened up thinking maybe that finally let go. Will only run briefly on cold start injector. I rocked the engine a bunch getting the mounts to line up. Linkages are new and were safely disconnected as well as distributor cap and rotor. Seals on metal runners seem ok. Ran great before this project. What else! Is there a big gasket on the intake that could have gotten tweaked rocking the motor back and forth?
  4. Gotta say… That sucked. Had to disconnect the sway and use a pry bar to get in and out. And then trying to be careful getting the seal not to smear silicon everywhere…and then holding it up there and trying to get a screw to thread…not a fan! Hopefully it will not leak! I did not overtighten so hopefully! New mounts while I was in there too. For others…even with the rig to lift the motor…good luck if you have a thicker sway!
  5. Dropping pan for a new gasket. It’s an aftermarket sway…pretty sure that’s the issue. It’s way up there, both mounts are completely floating. I had to take the sway down on one side for the alternator to come out…here we go again!
  6. Stuck! Tii with the motor on a truss as far up as can go with the intake just about hitting to notch area…and cannot get the oil pan to clear the front sway? Read all the posts and thought I was all prepared! Am I going to have to undo the sway as well? Is there a trick with getting this thing out as far as twisting it or something. So far..no luck for me!
  7. I have sold that car…but it was not pretty. Sucks that they don’t fit after all the discussion!
  8. I never could get my “new design” Uro seals to let the door suck in enough without very violent slamming. I ended up chopping it all up with a razor blade to make it “better”…
  9. I used acetone and many rags and got all of the exact same treatment off of my 76. I then polished it all back up and had a few really bad pieces rechromed by a local shop. It all generally matched well and was freshened up.
  10. Got the same thing for a Tii timer box. Charleton.
  11. While trying to clean up excess wiring from previous owners obsession with toggle switches I must have unhooked however he had the cold start valve hooked up. Moved a toggle to the left side of wheel and wired it myself and car starts within a second or two of hitting the starter. If I get an original timer box I’ll use it, but for now….starting and running like a sewing machine!
  12. I have messaged him! Just waiting on a reply. I do need a box though..unless he may have an extra. Thanks!
  13. Trying to go back to stock after years of push button activation. Anyone got a working one?
  14. I am on my second set of bumpers. The finish is amazing, price is excellent…you may have to massage some fit here and there. My first set, the rear shorty was really funky and had to use washers to adjust angles of the ends and this current set on the Tii, the front drivers side ear needs some massaging. Can I ask how much their trim molding is? They didn’t even offer that the last time I purchased from them!
  15. Pedal rod was twisting in arm before engaging so never reaching full throttle. Tightened everything up and reset full throttle with pedal pinned with pump…I now know what a Tii feels like! Runs good!
  16. Ok..so now seeming like a pedal issue. Notice the dead zone with no spring back? Again I get full smooth operation from engine compartment but pedal is a mess. I feel none of the spring back in the car that I feel from engine bay. IMG_4425.MOV
  17. To update. Pinned the kugelfisher at full adjusted all to spec using following information. Pedal is pinned. When released, flooring it again does not allow it to go to full throttle. Adjust at pedal box now for that last little bit?
  18. Okay…so had the wife floor it. The kfisch does NOT hit the stopper when floored? I can push arm down all the way from engine compartment but pedal does not get to full throttle! Where do I adjust? Just right here at threaded rod?
  19. Will do. I know the filter is right..I wonder if running it around the block the last year or so on weekends has allowed some more crap to release. I do have a gauge…Amazon special…gotta see how I can attach it.
  20. Yup. I used it. All lines are new when I was getting it going since sitting from 2009. New pump in back and new filter up front. This is one thing I noticed today that could maybe be something. When I used to turn the key and the pump came on with the hood open, the hose to the cold start valve used to almost jump as pressure got to it..now I have to watch it really carefully to see any motion when I tune the key on. Dunno!
  21. New strainer on after I had the tank boiled and flushed so hopefully no junk….but I will check again and report back.
  22. Will check. I do have all new measured linkages so I know that is not a weak point.
  23. Long sitting 74tii up and running. Replaced starter recently and have adjusted valves…happy to report all cylinders showing between 190 and 205 on my compression gauge. Feeling like it will not need a rebuild. I have a steady idle about 950 or so, is a little slow to start after sitting a week but starts right up if I start it every day. Timing looks to be correct with adjustable timing light at idle and is advancing to 28-30 at 3000rpm so distributor is hopefully still kicking. New plugs, cables, caps, rotor… My issue is to me, it feels pretty flat on a hard pull, like it couldn’t get to red line if I wanted it to in 3rd in particular. Is it time to send injectors or kfisch off? If advance is happening, is it just not enough fuel zapping power? What else can I check before sending stuff out?
  24. My least favorite repair..doing that the first time…I thought I would never get it back together. 🤦‍♂️
