  1. Corky Bell! Haven’t heard that name in years. My dad had him turbo our 1980 or so tan celica back in 81. Gave us a nice whoosh. Can’t imagine how much power it may have had. 130 or so? ? I grew up in lewisville tx and Corky was close by!
  2. Mine was a b to get off too…lots of BFH on the face and rubber mallet on the edge. Finally let go. Felt like a god when it came off. ?
  3. Back on the ground. Feels amazing. High pedal! My 76 never felt like this.
  4. I don’t think so…I want to say the back was open…or maybe it is broken. I’m gonna go take it all back apart.
  5. Question in case I got the upper spring holder thing backwards… One side has a whole fork and the other side has a notch cut out. I did the notch cut out end towards the back of the car where the e brake lever is…is that right?
  6. For sure…the hooks are hooked outside in…would that make that much difference? I put it back together the way I found them. before pic
  7. New cylinders that I just put on today…so in this case I don’t think it’s that. But I should change those too!
  8. Gonna be tough to get back off!! ?‍♂️?‍♂️
  9. I did not do anything to parking brake except have it off in the car and then rehook onto new shoe. It seemed loose!? What did I miss!
  10. Rear drums on Tii. All new stuff from blunt. How hard should it be to get new drum over new shoes. Pretty sure everything is on right and adjust nuts are in the best place for the least resistance. Driver side was tight and will not turn with wheel by hand and passenger side I am having to really wack with rubber mallet. thought this would be the easy part!
  11. Discovered my 74tii has had all of its good parts stripped. need strut housing, hub, calipers and rotors…if ya got em.
  12. Not hard at all…weekend garage queen for sure. I’m more thinking price vs originality vs quality of braking. Do you have to have Tii struts for 320 upgrade for example. If I’m buying rotors and calipers no matter what, if skipping original Tii struts and hubs saves money with upgraded system…score.
  13. Car sat in a shipping container from 2009 best I can tell from the previous seller. Had the wrong fuel pump, no air box, fuel tank all mucky. Changed all the lines, boiled tank, corrected fuel pump and actually got the kugel apart and freed up…car started right up. Bled the brakes and drove it around the block. It stops ok for the neighborhood but not great… so I ordered some pads after seeing how thin they were…and discovered all this! Previous owner is a faqer and didn’t know either. I think the drivers rear has a leaky cylinder but not enough to drop pressure from my bleeder over time. Local friend suggested calling Terry Sather for parts and just go get em in Austin to save shipping. Should I just go 320i brakes?
  14. Quit it! Notch has just been buggered up. It’s a Tii. ? Motor and body have a the same Tii number as well as the title! also front never crashed and no snorkel.
  15. And…I assume the correct Tii master and booster are being used considering my airbox fits there? My 76 02 had a much larger booster and master that wouldn’t have allowed for the airbox. and this all started with just wanting to stick some fresh pads on there to run while I work on it for shakedown laps!!
  16. Bastards! Figured it out. Someone changed to all standard 02 stuff at some point in this cars history! 3 inch dead on holes for mounting. I have to change it back right?! Hubs, struts, calipers and rotors…what else? Is it worth it? How much will this be!?
  17. Hey guys Bringing my 74tii back to life. Ordered some pads from Rogers Tii. Got everything apart. Pads are too big. Do I have the wrong pads or did someone change calipers!? Anyone recognize these as Tii brakes? It’s a numbers matching Tii for sure!
  18. Thanks! Hard to imagine the car being built and trimmed out and then someone tearing out the entire headliner, cutting a perfect hole in the roof, and the re trimming the entire interior? Seems extreme to weld all that in without damaging an interior? Those 70s swingers really wanted a sunroof! ? So far I have separated the bracket and started to weld a repair. Next is fixing the holes in the panel that opened up on removal. I emailed wabasto with a contact us and posted on the Uk forum…looks like nit a lot of traffic on that site but we will see. I’ll check with Jaymic too!
  19. Thanks Steve! This one was used on Mercedes’ too but those brackets that are spot welded to roof are kinda built into the roof. I’ll try the Europe forum too. Somehow this one made it over here so I bet there are others if I can find someone.
  20. Hello all. I have posted before on my mystery webasto Manual sunroof in my 74tii. I still can’t imagine how this could have been installed anywhere but the factory! The entire roof of the car and headliner had to be redone. I managed to get a handle on eBay and got the mechanism to actually work to raise and lower the roof and lock and got it to actually move back and forth…but one side of the bracket for the arms is all rusty and I can’t leave it that way as I restore the car back to normal. so…I drilled out some spot welds and have my work cut out for me to weld and fabricate. I can do it…but it’s not going to be easy. Anyone look at this and see an easier way out and also, does anyone have a better panel sitting around that has webasto guts?? Someone thought they did when I posted last year. Advice appreciated!
