Hood closed i think it could be 3 mm or so more forward.
Hood supports... something is off there. Looks like top part of the legs are missing the tip with short 90 deg bends (that stops joints over extending).
Does the hood behave if you remove that hood support/spring thingie?
If it isn't too much money i'd buy that lot. Never too much spares with these things huh?
+ you might get lucky and score lsd diff. I dunno what you have for a MOT but 2.0L brakes with 2.0 engine is pretty much standard what is needed (here at least).
Could it be just moisture over the years? If brake fluid has come out it will be messy unless it's recent failure. Hard to tell from that pic. I've seen a way worse. Is the outside padding still there? Under it might be different story.
And while you're at it there is something cooking under/around two lowermost p/b assembly bolts. Might wanna wire brush & paint now.
1502 was always short neck diff, 4.1 ratio. Keep the diff. No need to change unless you want to. Although 5 speed tranny (and shaft) might be better for it? Front calibers are single circuit.
Rear drums are already 230 mm (2.0L spec), fronts may start to feel too small, depends how you drive it (2x48 mm calibers). Vented E21 front rotors are common upgrade.
Can’t help with the coil but…
Does it die bc too much or too little fuel?
Check cold start valve - does it leak?
Fuel pressure - from el.pump to kf unit. Is it enough?
And the classic: engine earth cable(s) & points.
Oh and don’t zip tie anything to ignition leads. That’s asking for trouble.
