  1. Hi everyone - so there was a very original 76 Inka, non-tii, that didn't meet reserve last week on BAT. The auction ended at $16K and my jaw dropped. Plus, the usually speculative congregation of commenters didn't seem too surprised (I think i saw maybe one head scratcher comment). I'm an owner of a very (just as) original 76 Chamonix and, not that my car is for sale, but I never would have valued it much over $12K. I feel like that's an honest assessment. Maybe I'm out of the loop but have valuations of base 'squaries' gone up? I'm not saying the Inka car isn't worth it, but was wondering if anyone else caught that and was curious. Plus it's good to get a feel from other owners. thanks! Joe
  2. do you still have that rear bumper? I saw your post but wasn't clear if the parts were ever picked up. Thanks in advance - i'll be in NoVA this weekend so could pick up.
  3. Hey there folks - looking for a short rear bumper for my 76. I'm in Richmond VA so ideally you're located somewhere I can pickup but I have used Greyhound to ship a rear seat across the country. Open to any situation. Not looking for concourse condition but would like for it to be free of rust and dents. I can probably live with dings depending how severe. thanks so much.
  4. Yes! That’s my primary fear as well but wanted someone else to validate. Unplugging until I can find someone with a spare or source on eBay
  5. Was wondering if anyone has tried using a wine or champagne cork as temp or permanent fix for a brake reservoir float thats taking on brake fluid. My brake light has been flickering for months and happy to have found the root cause but taking a while to find a new plastic float with rubber grommet. Hoping this solution might be a patch
  6. My brake warning light has been flickering for months. Ruled out the ebrake and sticky switch plunger and turns out my float is half way full of brake fluid. Can’t seem to find one online so hoping someone has a spare. Looking for justbthe float and the black rubber grommet the plunger seats into. Thanks in advance
  7. I have no idea if DMV would take up beef with my fog light set up. Yes the fogs are completely independent from my head/parking lights. I also don't run with a front plate which is also mandatory in the Virginia. So I'm already not technically on par on legalities in this Commonwealth. I appreciate the complement tho!
  8. Your upper house looks similar to mine. At the time I also questioned flow because the hose wasn’t completely round allowing for optimum flow. I decided to trust in the manufacturer and not cut anything. Happy to say my car runs very cool and all is operating as it should. Very happy with the hoses and the clamps. Not a single leak. That said, I was working with a stock radiator.

  10. Im so close to being finished with hooking up. With 2 little kids I can work a few minutes at a time. I’ll follow up to this thread this weekend with photos!
  11. man i so want to be the one to powerwash your car. I'd probably want to stop there tho. LOL
  12. Get it cleaned up and motor sorted. this car would be awesome with its well earned patina. Looks like you gotta crack free dash going for you too!
  13. Keep at it. You should be able to wet sand those ridges and drip lines down and then follow up with another light coat of paint. Finally back to wet sand until satisfied.
  14. My idle is between 900-1000. I’ve tried lowering by adjusting the advance (rotating dizzy) while timing but it doesn’t seem as happy and the shake gets worse. Of course my carb air/fuel mix could be off too. Despite the shake I have a steady idle and the car runs out well. For fine tuning I’d need to take it to a qualified tech at this point.
  15. Good call Ray and yeah I did that too. I’m running NGKs. Just put them in within 1000 miles. Pulling a plug REALLY makes it shake far more than what’s seen in the vid
  16. I just mounted by Marchal 810s behind the grill and only had to adjust position of the horn to create space. Used existing manufacture holes for securing. This is total aesthetics and not much functionality. I like the look and being a little different. PM if you want more info.
  17. For comparison here is my engine idling. I’d love to see someone elses as I also feel it moves around more than what it should. I’ve already checked all mounts, valves, adjusted alt, and completed timing inspection. Learned a lot about my car but no solve for the shakes. I’ve learned to live with it for now since the car runs like a top but again would love to see a comparison as I can’t find another o2 owner within a 2hr drive. I’m in Richmond VA 9FF44876-DCF6-46AD-B3B4-F169F43CBB5A.MOV
  18. Appreciate the pro tip. yes, I believe the float is working correctly as in it's not gummed up or jammed as most seem to have issues with. I believe i have deduced that the problem is not actually with the cap and rather a poorly set up hand brake switch. The spring isn't keep enough pressure contact on the ground so it's barely touch and in turn causing the brake warning light to flicker. If i can get a better on and off actuation of the switch i believe this should fix it up.
  19. hey er'body. My brake warning light is on the fritz and i think it's due to a faulty cap on my brake fluid canister. Does anyone have a spare to sell? Shipping to 23113. Thanks, Joe
  20. Adjusting the sled did the trick of creating an easier operation of the hood latch lever. adjusting the little blocks helped with the tapping that was happening with my stock air cleaner and the hood. A whole other issue solved with this one. Thanks for the tips as always.
  21. Last time i drained the coolant i did both the radiator and block. I had no idea when the PO last changed it. I had so much crud build up at the bottom of the block i had to scratch sediment away after removing the drain plug to allow the coolant to flow out. flushed out with a garden hose and seem to knock a lot of it loose and out.
  22. Worth looking into Randy. Based on my preliminary inspection nothing seems to be slipping or not operating correctly. It's just reallllly difficult to operate. I'm going to look at this specifically. Appreciate the thought.
  23. hi folks - looking for any words of wisdom on adjusting the hood latch. Mine is a sonovabitch to get all the way into the latched position. As in I damn near need to use two hands to get it down. The other day when i released the hood latch the lever came all the way back the hood remained latched. I had to push the lever back and forth from latched to unlatched before the hood finally released. Looks like i can adjust the location up or down of the two white plastic pads on either side of the hood with two small nuts on each. With a good cleaning, a little grease and adjustment i'm hoping i can make this all operate a little more easy. Any tips from the pros?
