  1. 5 Speed going in. Any good online resources for leather knobs? Looking for one without the shift pattern on it. I've done a search but come up empty so far.
  2. My son's 74 tii needs a rear diff quickly. Looking for an open 3.64. It will need to be shipped to San Luis Obispo. Please email me at skjerven4198@yahoo.com. Stuart
  3. Has any one worked with this guy from Austria for rims? http://www.powderwheelsbbswheelsrimsfelge.elisting.at/ Stuart
  4. Got some more information on the airbox. It was mounted on a 1970 Alpina A2-S car. The original owner was a mechanical engineer with a PhD from Berkeley. He wanted to improve the air-flow and filtration of the original metal-cannister airbox (ti) that originally came with the car. After consulting with Alpina - he designed this. It's a resonance-tuned, standing-wave airbox. The air comes in via an over under feed from the front. It uses a rectangular filter from a 7 series. The cover on the front is held on magnetically. It was specifically designed to improve the airflow. The lower round intake feed might have had a length of hose attached to it that was forward facing in the engine compartment but not sure where it was routed. There will be some work involved to get it mounted. It will be mated to the 40s via a set of air horns using the stock ti rubber bellows. After all the mounting work is complete then we'll decide how to either clean it up and or paint it. To the best of my knowledge it is one of a kind so I want to be very careful how I clean it up.
  5. codigoRojo - Did a test fitting. The tii brake boost is ok. Will need to move the brake fluid reservoir, lower the battery tray, reposition some of the wiring harness, and lose the bar. Stuart
  6. Hammerite looks like its for metal. The airbox is fiberglass. Need to be real careful with this airbox. Stuart
  7. It is fiberglass. I've heard that powder coating is possible but I do not want to risk damaging the airbox. Is there anything "spray on" that would stand up to cleaners and the heat? Stuart
  8. I've come across a unique airbox. I would like to clean it up and apply a coat of paint. The airbox is fiberglass and the exterior surface is rough. I want to clean it up and apply a coat of paint that will stand up to oil, engine heat, degreasers, and even brake cleaner. I also want to find a paint color that will match an unpainted valve cover. Here is a picture of my motor and the airbox: Thanks, Stuart
  9. Driving to account for the idiots around us has never been more important. I make it a point to see the driver's eyes in the cars around me as well as the cars pulling on to the road I'm on. I will pull over or turn if the person behind me gives me any indication they are less than engaged. Eyes down BAD! Eyes up Good!! Stuart
  10. All - It was the intent to alternate these North and South Bay but work has made me unable to uphold my part to organize something in the South Bay. Hoping its gets better after the holidays. Stuart
  11. Steven - Hope all is well. Looking for a center resonator and rear exhaust for the 73. Also, do you have a hanger kit for them as well? Stuart
  12. until

I have a commitment this Saturday morning. Sorry.
  13. I found a set of Weber air cleaners that I would like to use on my 40 DCOEs. Has anyone here used them? I have a tii brake boost. Initial positioning tells me that they will clear. Some questions..... 1. Air filter - Pierce Manifolds had a 2" filter but it was too larger to fit inside the cover and base. 2. Dipstick - It looks like getting to the dipstick will be a challenge once they are mounted. 3. Clean up/powder coating - I want to have the black redone and the bare metal polished smooth, thoughts on how? 4. Remove the air horns or mount the air cleaners right over them? Anything else I should consider?
  14. Thanks for checking. I will have your disti back to you this weekend. Sorry it took so long.
  15. I've posted this in the Parts Wanted as well. Was wondering if any one has a BMW choke cable they are willing to part with. Stuart
  16. Installing a 32/36 on our 73 and would like to find a BMW choke cable. Stuart
  17. Both tiis are very nice. I've seen both and I know they have had the right work done to them. If only I had the cash. I do not know much about the ti.
  18. My boys and I through the corkscrew on the parade lap.
  19. BMW care package arrived today with some new bling.
  20. A few shots of my boys to add here.
  21. Interested in another. Sahara 75. Crate motor with 34K on it. IE springs and bars and Bilstein HDs. New 32/36 and Stahl header. Newly done interior. 2 owner car. The current owner bought it from original owner in 76. You could call it a one owner car. I will do a PPI soon.
  22. Did anyone get a name and contact info for the guy that shot video from his drone?
  23. Steve - So that worked out well! Very solid turn out. Met a number of new owners. I hope we can get the same in the South Bay next month. Did we say Sunday August 14th? I hope the young man that took the drone footage will make it available. I'd love to have a copy. Stuart
