Sorry she did not see any of us on the roads in San Jose. We have a pretty good group but not a lot of them are DDs.

We had it mounted in my son's Agave in the morning and got some good footage. We are going to put something together and get it posted in the next few days. You need to come next time! I will set the date way in advance so you can plan ahead. Stuart

As this was my first time hosting a drive, I only went out to small group with the announcement so it was a manageable size group. I will extend the announcement to a larger group next summer.

The first "02s Around the Lake" is in the books. Thank you to everyone who was able to make the drive. We had cars from all over make the trip to Tahoe to join. Saw some old friends as well as made some new ones. It was great to meet a number of owners from the Sierra group. We had 12 cars in all and several more that were here in spirit. This was my first time organizing a drive. I learned a lot and will apply it to next summer's drive in Tahoe as well as drives in the Santa Cruz mountains. We met at Starbucks at the "Y" in South shore. Most of the drivers started at Starbucks and others met up with us along the drive. We regrouped at the Biltmore in Crystal Bay before heading to Squaw Valley for Lunch. Squaw Valley was great stop for lunch. Lots of room to park the cars and get some pictures. Lunch at Fireside Pizza Co was great. On the way out to Squaw we met a LARGE VW club on the road. Wow they travel in serious numbers. There were GoPros mounted in two cars. I will try and post some video to this thread later. After lunch some folks headed home. The rest of us drove back to South Lake Tahoe along the west shore of the lake. We ended that drive at Chevy's for a quick beer and recap. Thank you again to all that made the event. I'm already planning next summer's drive. Hope more can join next year, Stuart

South Bay Area 02 owners - With the BMW Cars & Coffee events being far and few between as well as not 02 focused, I'm willing to start owning a few regular events. The history so far is a few well attended 02s and Eggs in Campbell. I'd like to expand on this. Here is what I'm thinking: 02s and Eggs maybe once a quarter A more regular 02 Cars & Coffee event - less formal and most of us drink coffee Santa Cruz Mtn drives a couple times a year 02 Slotcar race if my friend ever finishes painting the 02 slotcar bodies I gave him 02s Around the Lake - Yearly drive around Lake Tahoe. First annual is happening this June 25th. Group BBQs at local parks Just a few ideas to see if anyone is game. Stuart

Fatherof3 - Nice 1/32 scale 02s! I'm into HO scale slots and currently I have HO scale 02s in the works. I had a resin cast done of the Hot Wheel 02 and it will sit on a Tomy SuperG chassis. They will be used for an IROC style race of equally prepared cars for the local 02 owners. We have 4 nice HO tracks here in the San Jose area that we can run on. Suspension & Brakes. A set of ST bars and new bushings is always a plus. I run Bilstein HD and H&R springs. You can go more stiff but that's all I want. I have a stock brake set up but the brake boost is a tii boost so I have room for horns on the DCOEs. I will upgrade the rest of the brakes when these go away. Perhaps a tii set up all the way. You have a great base to work from and it looks like a lot has been done already. You say your trim is "cloudy". Before you replace it all, as that can be pricey, try some Simichrome polish. It does wonders on all the chrome trim pieces. I favor keeping all the trim on the car that it came with but that's just me.

My son's and I are missing this year's event as my oldest graduates from the University of Colorado that day. Have fun.

Guys - I am working on getting a date for "02s Around the Lake". Once I have a date set with the "Chicago Park" guy I'll let you know. We'll start out in South Lake, head out around the east side of the lake, stop in North Shore for food, return to South Lake via the west side. Depending on how many come we'll either do a bbq at our place or do apps at our place and then go for an early dinner. Should be a good time and hope both of you can make it. Stuart
