  1. Welcome to Boise. I’m in the process of building my 70. She’s in pieces currently but great to see some more 2002 owners here.
  2. Sorry to clarify, I mean rear trunk spoiler like this on the pig cheeks.
  3. Anyone ever see this combo on a roundie? I know it’s not 100% period correct but curious to see how it would look.
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I just didn’t know if he was a “engine builder” as I saw a lot of people say that with S14 to make sure whomever is building it knows what they are doing. I know there are shops that work on cars and then there are guys that really know their stuff when getting into the internals.
  5. i have the Aardvak manual already and read through it briefly. I’ll check the threads as well.
  6. Thanks guys for the reply. Much appreciated. Anyone have experience with Terry's rebuilds? As it looks like he rebuilt the engine as well.
  7. Hi Guys, Looks like another S14 on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/bmw-s14-engine-with-modified-getrag245/ This time being listed by Terry Sayther, whom seems like he has a good rep on the boards. My only question is Im curious to other's thoughts on the big weld on the trans. Here is his explanation: "The transmission belhousing must have provision for the crankshaft sensors. The way I make that happen is to cut out that portion of the s14 bellhousing and transfer it to the similar but not identical bellhousing of the 245 trans. The modification part is bolted to a block along with the trans to provide proper alignment and the two are welded together." I feel like I haven't seen it done this way on most of the other S14 swaps on here, or did I just miss that? I thought the 245 was a straight bolt up.
  8. very cool. I wonder what car that’s from.
  9. Anyone know if its possible to swap the MPH and Tach (a la 911) in the gauge cluster if having it rebuilt?
  10. This sounds fantastic I can’t wait to see it.
  11. Also anyone have any custom gauge clusters? If so throw them up in here.
  12. pics don’t seem to be loading for me
  13. Yea the company is called vintage dashes. They are still working on it. https://instagram.com/vintagedashes?utm_medium=copy_link
  14. My dash is shot and looking at replacing or repairing it but would love to see some photos of dash customizations you guys have done. I would also love to see photos of any non-stock alternatives as well such as IE's CSL dash.
  15. Shipped off to Metalworks in OR to be dipped.
  16. Steve thanks for the info. It’s a bummer more records are not available would be cool to find out who originally purchased it. As well as other history.
  17. Got some info back from BMW on the vins: Thank you for your email. The numbers belong to different cars, here's what we have in our records:1672270 - BMW 2002 US - built 16.02.1970 - delivered 25.02.1970 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors in New York - colour Colorado (BMW paint code 002);2584028 - BMW 2002 US - built 29.06.1972 - delivered 10.07.1972 to Hoffman Motors, New York - colour Sahara (006);We hope this is helpful for you. I looked up Hoffman Motors but couldn’t find a lot about it except the original Hoffman was importing cars in the early 1900s
  18. Love it. It’s a mild version of what mine will look like when I’m done. I’m curious to what it ends up going for.
  19. I was going to buy the adjustable parts from IE anyway but was trying to figure out if it’s worth paying someone to weld them on this one or just buy the complete one from IE instead.
  20. would you just use a screw driver to try and flatten it out???
  21. If I’m going to send the subframe out for powdercoat do you think it’s cool structurally? Debating on doing that or just buying and adjustable for from IE
  22. Thank you. I go rent a hub puller and see if I can get that to work.
  23. As noob I have a few random questions that don’t really fit anywhere. 1) is the dent in the rear subframe normal? Next I was taking the hubs off the front struts and while the driver side hub and rotor slid right off the passenger side doesn’t want to come off. Any recommendations on how to get it off? lastly the passenger side had 3 bolts holding the steering link (I think that’s what it’s called) in place but the other side seem riveted in place. Do I need to drill these out? Thanks for any help in advanced!
