  1. EDIT: Dont Type In The Box With Instructions! Thanks It's been a while since I last made a post on this, so I thought I would bring it up again. Recently I began making a map of 2002's located world wide. If you would like to add yourself, read the instructions located on the webpage. It is a google map. If you cannot get it to work, email me or PM me. Link http://local.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=111206129791824318088.000470b4d5cf4bced56be&ll=61.606396,-97.382812&spn=102.284799,253.125&t=h&z=2
  2. check the map. feel free to add yourself, just read the instructions first.
  3. Seconded on the Kuhmo's. They run great, and I've only had them loose grip twice, during some rather I deserved to do that moments. I drove them through some pretty bad rainstorms without a problem. I can't tell you exactly what I have, but I believe they are Kuhmo Solus 175/70/13 but I could be wrong. I can check them for you when Im back home winter break....but im pretty sure that would be useless. Good Luck, hope you find the tires you need. -Dan
  4. Ha, no worries mate, I'd vote for yours if I didn't want to keep it interesting. It's not about winning, its about getting people to see your car, or in this case, a good friend who keeps your car running and deserves to have the monster he's wrought shown front & center.
  5. Off topic / Marque, but iTunes has the Le Mons racing doc Truth in 24 for free on itunes. If you love racing, this is worth the time.
  6. Go Beatup-but-runs-well-Boy-Racer-With-Old-Man-Style-Patina-that-photographs-well Duddlemobile!
  7. I like those basket weaves. Have fun! Its a good ride.
  8. Ha, Thank you very much. It is however not my car. All the credit for how this car looks goes to a Mr. Dudley Williams, a great guy, who helps keep my poor buggy (second in line in the photo's) running by showing me the ropes.
  9. Hi all, for those of you who don't know, when I'm not crying myself to sleep for missing my 2002, or in class up here at RPI, I build (along with some other car-nuts) a race car for a yearly competition called Formula SAE. Each year, we spend about $50,000 building a 450 pound race car from scratch. Now 50,000 is hard to come by, and we can hardly ask our parents, they're already broke from paying tuition, so im here to ask. Is anyone of here willing to help sponsor our car. As much as we need money, we expertise as much, if not more. If you have any motor sports experience, or even a spare $20, we would much appreciate it. Also, If you know how to get sponsorship dollars, or have gone through this process please email me. Furthermore, if you want a nice pretty shiny info-package I can have one sent to you upon request. -Sorry To Grovel on a 2002 forum. But common we all love cars. 'specially racecars.
  10. I have no idea how that extra code got there MUAHHAHAHAHAH Just Kidding!
  11. Jonathan, good luck. I wish I could do her up right for you. I've seen this car in person, and besides the collision damage, she is immaculate. If I wasnt a broke-ass teenager, I would replace the front end in a heartbeat, and have myself a beautiful Inka tii.
  12. Im an part time D.C.-er who wants to know as well. Im not looking for paint right now, but stuff happens.
  13. I would like to nominate Von Iffe, Dudley's (Dudonly) beat-up yet still stunning monster of a car. Its a 71 Roundie, which he uses as his D.D. I wish I knew enough about his car to give it a full rundown, but for now, I'll let the photo's and the video's do the talking
  14. I used mike's repair as a guide when I replaced mine. I took a hitch pin and stuck that in after grinding it down with a Dremel. It took forever, but it wasn't hard to do. Ask Mike if he will email it to you, if not, Ill search for it on my computer, its around here somewhere...... Rough guide... 1) Find a good friend willing to help (at least entertain you) (JAY) 2) Cut Hitch Pin Down to Size (Use a Dremel or a cut-off wheel of sorts) 2.5) Bitch about how annoying it is to do 3) Grind Hitch Pin so that it will fit in a rectangular hole. Make sure that the holes go the length of the pin, not the width. Take some time to figure out how the clockwork spring needs to go in order to hold tension and fit on the pin 3.5) Get a beer, or a soda, or a snack, just take a break, or you will try to dremel your brain out 4) Make a metal spacer so that hitch pin is held tight with cotter pin. This spacer goes between the head of the hitch pin, and the regulator. Use some soft easy to use metal, this is basically supposed to act like a massively oversized washer. 5) Reinstall and tension spring. When I did this, a fellow member of this forum, came over and helped plan out what to do, he also helped grind the crap out of this pin. Cut it down to a rough size first, then go ahead and grind it square. You want a bit to stick out on both sides. I would send photo's of my fix, but my car is currently about 600 miles away *cries a bit* It's not hard, just alot of time, and planning. Think about what your going to do once you have your battleaxe / regulator out of the car.
  15. No I didn't stop by, I had promised to work on the FSAE car that day. As for the parts from the Machine Shop, Im not trying to profit from them, its all going to be at cost, and possibly the slice of pizza I'll be eating. Im trying really to learn how to machine, and I may as well help someone with their stuff while messing around with metal. FYI To all on the tread, this will NOT be short turn-around. I may be able to finish other peoples things later in the year, but I have already made some promises to people.
  16. I do roughly nothing. Im talking dirt simple things. I just started machining last week. I cant make anything too nice or complex.
  17. So here's the story, I've gone off to college at RPI which to most mechanically oriented is like a toy store. I now have the ability (though not necessarily the skills) to fabricate those hard to come by parts. Please post up anything you would like to see made, keeping in mind that I have very little (read one weeks worth) experience machining. I will need some sort of drawing (CAD files are the best), and measurements, and Ill email you back an estimate of how much it will cost to make (Materials+S&H+Pizza Expenses) Ill start with the most basic items first, and see what's what from there. Please dont expect things to turn around quick, I have classes and my own projects to do, as well as obligations with the Formula SAE team. (15,000 buys last years car, Autocross bliss right there)
  18. Well Spotted. Youtubed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDUpdicn81s
  19. I just got mine mailed to me today. My mom sends them up to RPI for me. I cant wait to read it. For those in who may care. Im now at an engineering school, anyone have any ideas for some parts worth fabbing up? Ill see what i can do
  20. Not to thread-jack but Jay, how did inspection go? Its about damn time that Opel got out of the garage, and onto the streets of DC.
  21. All the fame and babes you could ever want. Just voted, good luck mate.
  22. SunnyCov, I can't help you with your electrical problem, but I do believe that you may get a bit more notice, if you provide some more details. An electrical issue could be anything from a broken bulb to a short, to lord knows what. Can you give the community some symptoms beyond they dont work? Also, this isn't some SMS, please use english.
