  1. Ha, shops's looking great Marshall. I moonlight as a rum distillery, so I'm curious, what's the ABV / hr rate on the lift?
  2. After two years outside under slumber, I've managed to get my old'02 up and running. I'm looking to finish a few things that still need doing -- namely the welding of a few rust spots on the floor. Anyone in the DC metro area got a welder I can borrow for a few days? I'd prefer a proper MIG to a Flux Core if at all possible.

  4. Is possible. If I'm in town, I'll join you out there. I don't this this drive is going to happen though, looks like everyone is out of town.
  5. Marco? Looks like there's a lack of availability and interest...
  6. Marshall, It's as good a driving road as you'll fine in city limits. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ross+Dr+NW/@38.9543935,-77.0450048,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x89b7c84f69505fd7:0xb9307297a0cdcdd9
  7. Hi All! I'm not dead, and neither is my 2002, but we both need a bit of work. I haven't seen most of the old ISRCG in a while, so I'm trying to feel out what the group interest is for another little gathering in the DC / MD / NoVA area. Here's my thoughts (Mr Swift should also be in town) - Katies Cars & Coffee (Starts at 8am) for the local crew / early risers in Great Falls VA - Cruise down the GW Parkway to Haynes Point (Arrive at 10:00am) and meet the later risers there. - Rattle the Park / Ross Drive for a good hour (10:30-11:30) - Bring Charcoal for a BBQ in the park Any interest?
  8. http://www.batterymart.com/p-12v-mazda-miata-battery.html Same company as WestCo, but a fraction of the price.
  9. Hey all, My floor pan's fallen ill to the plague (rust), I've got a new one to weld in. Anyone want to re-teach me how to weld / loan me a welder, or know a good welding shop in the DC/MD/VA area? -Dan
  10. Is that Jack-Handle Inception? An extension bar within a jack handle within a jack handle? Let the 2002 horror stories begin.
  11. Bethesda Ave Cross Walk You: Red, Square Tail, Minilite style wheels, 15'' I believe... Me: Blue Sweater, Khaki Pants I was In a hurry, in the crosswalk, yelled "Nice Car, I own one too!". You smiled, waved, and drove off. I really liked the way the light made your hood shine. All kidding aside I'd like to buy you a beer and talk 2002's sometimes. I didn't recognize the car -Dutchie3719 in MD
  12. I noticed I never actually posted my success, It took a 5 foot jack handle, a wall, a tire, and three guys. Good tip on bolting back to the wheel.
  13. I'd be interested in a shop. I'm in Great Falls / Carderock right now, but moving from MD to Tysons Corner / Reston soon.
  14. Pat, Still interested. Please let me know if you require assistance w/ manufacture. -Dan
  15. It has been said that god kills a kitten each time you don't use the search.
  16. Marshall, When's petrolicious covering your beast? I'll make sure to repost if they do.
  17. Yeah, it's not 43-48 lb-ft. It's somewhere between 43-48 Sheisse/min
  18. DOH! Hub and Rotor. They are off car. Broken Stud, and sqeaky wheel bearing... Beyond Heat and Really Really Long Bars there's nothing I'm missing eh?
  19. I can't seem to separate the hub and caliper to replace the press fit wheel studs. I've tried heat, and air tools, but all the hex key bolts are pretty damn stuck. It's not like they're very rusty either, I'm betting they got over-torqued before I got my grubby paws on the car. Any trick to separating them? Anyone know torque spec for these bolts? While I'm at it, any tips on press fitting the new studs in? -Dan
  20. Hey All, My floor pans have rotted out in spots, and I'd like to replace the entire drivers front floor pan. Anyone know where the best weld spots are? Should I try and keep as much of the trans tunnel as possible, and weld on the non rotted out flat spots, or should I cut on the trans tunnel and weld on the side of the trans tunnel? On that note, anyone have a good source for floor pans? I've heard of W&N (sp), and 2002AD has them, but I really haven't found much with moderate google-fu. Anyone got some floor pans, or know of a good source? I'd prefer Eastern Seaboard / Washington DC area.
  21. Hey Marshall, I didn't get the PM, may not have RSVP'd though. Please let me know if I can bring anything. I have tools I can loan out as well if anyone needs something. Clay, I want my Vise Grip back! Cheers, Dan
