  1. Randy, Thanks a bunch, I owe you at least one. I'm willing to drive down to you to pick it up, and I can do that at any point before the 23rd. Another option is that I'm trying to co-ordinate an area get-together / drive before I head off to school once more. If your interested, I'll be posting about it on the forum right after this.
  2. I think we are talking about the same thing. One this REALOEM diagram, it is part # 12 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=2213&mospid=47140&btnr=51_3332&hg=51&fg=20 I need the passenger side trim, door only. Sorry if i'm not being totally clear, I just can't think of what to call it. Thanks.
  3. I am in need of the passenger side door trim with a rubber strip on it. (Lower trim) Mine fell off after some damage. Don't mind patina, or age, just straight. email ShorD@rpi.edu Can pick up in MD / DC area, or Albany, NY area after the 24th.
  4. Also, don't forget the coil and condenser, probably Alternator and relays to boot. You'll also have to change the voltage for the window wiper motor (or have turbocharged wiper speeds) The fluid senders (fuel, temp, etc) need to be resisted to 6V. Basically the gauge cluster voltage needs to match senders. Also a fuse box replacement might be a good idea. You will need to change the fuses themselves. If you want to get all science-y about it...the wires should be fine, but since your passing twice as much voltage through it, the resistance for end-line components needs to be twice as high to keep same amps. V=I/R (I being current (amps)) Hope this helps -Dan -Jay (redskinsjbs)
  5. Marc, I'm moving closer. I'm now in the Great Falls Area.
  6. C.D. - Will do, I'm glad you've decided to make one last Carlisle trip. Its always great to talk to you. I would love anything you have kicking around Otis - What dates and time work the best for you. I'll swing by whenever you are free. I owe you a few by now. To everyone else, thanks for your responses. I'll see if anything else is needed.
  7. You looked at Opel? The Kadett / Ascona are both pretty roomy and practical. I hear the Manta may have even handled better than our 02's
  8. Sorry in advance that this isn't entirely 02 related. I just moved into a new house, and have been putting some work into creating a garage mahal. So I've got the new rollaway, built cabinets / workbench, and painted the walls. Now I need some art. I have a few posters from the carpool meets and carlisles I've attended, but was wondering if anyone had some posters or such they were willing to part with. If your local, more than willing to go pick them up. Thanks again -Dan
  9. It seems that disagreement has devolved into putting your fingers in your ears and yelling loudest. Eric, I'm sure you have felt wronged, but was this the most mature, appropriate way to do this? In my personal experience (and for those who don't know me, I am a 02 Newbie) I have had some good experiences and some bad. When I ask a question, more often than not I receive some useful help. The board has some true gems, C.D. Bill Williams who have helped me quite often. There have been times however where I have receive the curt "just run a search" by various members. Although I probably should have searched more before posting, posting the search you preformed to confirm that this topic is often covered (you did check before yelling right?) may have been more helpful. In summary Motherfucking gay ass shit pussy bitches. Word. Think that covers it -Dan
  10. Quick question, has anyone used any of the radiator sealants from Advance or Auto Zone? I have a small pinhole leak in the mid right hand edge of the radiator, and I lose enough fluid for it to start becoming an issue. It's summer time and I would prefer that my car have as much fluid as possible. So my question is this, has anyone used these products with any success? I'm not only concerned with the ability to stop a small puncture, but will they clog up any fluid passages within the engine? Thanks -Dan
  11. How are you manufacturing these? Is there any chance you have some CAD / CAM drawings you'd be willing to share? I've been working on a similar project just for personal use, I have a bit of 1/8th inch stainless scrap that I wanted to turn into a gas pedal. The design looks great, I like the mounting. Keep me informed, feel free to email. -Dan
  12. Hey New England 02'ers, good work today. I saw two 02's while driving from UVM to Dartmouth College. The first spot was a roundie golf near exit two on VT. Your car looked great, and you where flying. Second spot was a red squarie parked on Main St in Hannover NH. Sorry I missed you both. Take Care, and happy motoring. -Dan
  13. Marc, I think that's the Zender airdam. Ask Dudley, he just bought one that I think looks just like that.
  14. Is there any way to change the pins within a lock cyl to match a key? I have door lock with no cyl, and a cyl with no key. I want to get it to match. Has anyone done this?
  15. Hey everyone, I'm looking for a horn button that will fit into the standard MOMO 55mm slot. I would prefer it said BMW on it, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks -Dan
  16. Try Clay's Blog, he used binder clips, and contact cement. TX02.blogspot.com
  17. Puuuurdy. Nice work, can't wait to see a finished bay.
  18. While up at Carlisle, I bought a hub for my Ferrero (Ferraro?) steering wheel. It's a standard MOMO hub for the 2002. I now need to find a horn button for the wheel. The inner diameter seems to be 2.133333 inches. Can someone please tell me what size their various horn buttons are. I've tested a Nardi horn button and that doesn't seem to fit. (Too small). Also if someone has a photo of how they installed their horn onto a MOMO hub, I'd love to take a look, it seems that the hub I bought has a brown wire from the contact ring. Am I missing something, or how does it ground / receive power? If anyone needs to see a photo of what I'm talking about, I'd be more than happy to take some. Thanks for the help. -Dan
