  1. dont waste your money. Get a drill and bit, and four bolts with accompanying nuts. I will warn you this is gonna be violent, and disgusting,as the shocks are filled with a white liquid, and it does spray EVERYWHERE, but drill holes in the bumper shocks, which will take the pressure away, and you can slide the bumper in, and then re-drill another hole, and secure it with the bolt. then i just trimmed the black accordion pieces to fit. Looks a TON better. makes these hugemongo U.S. spec bumpers not look too bad...

    Hef

i just dont get why you would do that....
  3. Yeah i was scared of that. But i have no means to buy the rockers from BavAuto so i think that i will just spray whatever preventative action i choose i guess. The stuff from therustdoctor.com is expensive as hell, so i dunno if it is worth it. So it might end up being a combo of POR-15 and the rust convertor from Walmart, and then when i have enough money, i will do it right and replace the rockers. But, for now, where do i buy POR-15? and i understand that you can't spray it without proper respiratory equipment because it will damage your lungs, so i guess "painting" it on with a brush is how it will be done. Should i just clean the area up with a wire wheel, and then just pack the stuff on there?
  4. I am trying to slow down the rocker rust on my car until i can properly fix the rust. I was wondering if anyone had used the "rust convertor" from Walmart or something similar. I have heard of POR-15 and know everyone rants and raves about it, but just thought i would ask about the slightly cheaper stuff from Walmart. Here is a link to a previous post of mine that has some pics of my rockers. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,311279/highlight,rust/ Is it a bad idea to spray anything on them? If its ok to, what does everyone suggest?
  5. the plastic vent tubes in my trunk have broken, and now water leaks into my trunk onto my already rusting strut tower.. Where could i get my paws on new left and right tubes?? Thanks guys, Chris
  6. ahh rob that sucks. Now you just need to start searching for your next one. ha
  7. So glad to hear that he is showing signs of improvement. Lets hope that he makes a full physical and mental recovery from the crash. Hang in there, and let the family know that we are all thinking of them. Chris
  8. Cris, I just dropped you an email on the forum.
  9. CJ, Beautiful car!! Did you make the slider, or was it part of a kit?
  10. I know that this has been discussed on the forum before, and everyone has said that xenon's look out of place on a 2002... Does anyone have pictures? After driving my moms benz(which has xenon's) the other night, i want some . Also, from the search i know that most people buy kits from vendors online. However i have a friend that owns a body shop, and he has taken HID ballasts from totaled cars and given his civic HID's. Would this be theoretically possible on a 2002 with two piece hella's or a similar brand of two piece headlamps? Thanks, Chris
  11. Didn't we cover this? It's you're, not your. You're what - a sophomore in high school? Isn't it way past your bed time? Isn't it time to pimple or something? Really, kid - give it a rest. The smell of Clearasil is starting to irritate my sinuses. Are you happy now? Damn your such a hard ass. Its absolutely mind blowing at what a real man you are. You probably feel great about yourself now. I mean your fighting with a 17 yr old, and a Junior in high school if it is at all relevant, Someone the same age that was just in a horrible car accident and killed his brother. And whats really funny, is that this is actually pissing you off. You're (Aren't you PROUD!!!!) STILL replying to everything. Isn't it time to pimple or something? The hell is that? Wow.... Now give it a rest old man. You're (oh shit thats twice!!!) making a fool of yourself
  12. Im the kid? ha your acting like a damn 8th grade teenage girl. And if it isnt the pot calling the kettle black. Im the one who is rude, classless, and offensive? Uh huh. Look bud, your actions dont command and respect, politeness, or kindness. If if I'm hiding behind my keyboard, your just as guilty. And, I would say every single damn word to your face, so i dont really consider myself hiding.
  13. heres a thought.. Maybe we dont accept your appology, because it doesnt seem sincere because you go on and on backing your original comments. And of course, continue acting like a complete ass
  14. Please send our regards to the family. I can't speak for everyone, but i can't even imagine the pain felt by them right now.
  15. It's "you're" - as in, you are - not "your." Hugs to you. I already have an accredited english teacher, so your correction on my punctuation is uneeded. I thought that we have already addressed your need to correct people on the forum, have we not? Anyway, your childish response isnt helping your case, so maybe you should delete that post as well. I hope you have a wonderful night Otis.
  16. Otis, Honestly, why do you feel need, and feel the right to say ANY and ALL of what you have said? A CHILD met a horrifiying death. A CHILD killed his own brother, and you have the insensitivity and rudeness to make comments like these. I give my prayers to the family, and the brother(17) beacuse he unfortunately will have to live knowing that he killed his little brother, even if his actions are not at fault, it will always be a lurking feeling. However, your posts have shown us your amazing levels of intelligence, and maturity. Frankly, I don't give a damn about spelling on a forum, much less a post that revolves around a horrific accident, which involved the death of a child, and critical injury of another; and the fact that you felt it necessary and proper to make comments on the subject of punctuation, enlightens all of us of your blatant insensitivity. illiterate –adjective 1. unable to read and write: an illiterate group. 2. having or demonstrating very little or no education. 3. showing lack of culture, esp. in language and literature. 4. displaying a marked lack of knowledge in a particular field: He is musically illiterate. ( the above was from dictionary.com) Now who is the individual here that demonstrates illiterate behavior...hmmm... Otis, i want you to do something for me. Your in the car with said teenage driver. Said driver looses control of the car. What at that moment, could you possibly do to prevent any injuries? Enlighten us. I'm sure we will want to learn this skill so we may practice it when our kids begin to drive. Novice drivers have accidents, no matter their age color, race, ect. Now, do you want these accidents to happen when they have no need to drive long distances, or when they are eighteen years of age, and drive long distances. Such as, to college, and back home ect. Also, this scenario could have happend to anyone, INCLUDING you. Perhaps you should consider other variables in the accident. Such as, tread wear, location of crash, time of day, and other outside influences, other cars, animals ect. Otis, are you a father? If so, imagine the pain of loosing a child. Or, if your not a father, Imagine hearing the news of the death of a child that you knew, or were close to. Next, i would like you to have some short tempered asshole write an insensitive opinon/story blaming this accident on the parents decisions on letting their child to operate a vehicle. What do you think your emotion would be? Now finally, if what i have said is written on a level that you cannot comprehend, let me simplify; YOUR the one that needs to go fuck yourself. Frankly, , how dare you? There is a hot place in hell, just for you. Your snyde comments arent needed here, especially given this threads content. (If you dont know, im referring to your comment regarding the gentlemans avatar.) Now, re- read your posts, and the posts of others, and let it all sink in. Learn from this. Chris
  17. This fuel line has probably already been replaced with the hard plastic one that normally runs in the interior. Most people that actually use this return line replace it with that line when they start to leak. If your running a weber carb, and the thing serves no mechanical purpose, cut the plastic line before the spot where it leaks, put some hose on it, and plug the hose. Problem solved (ask me how i figgered this one out :])
  18. or one of these Works good. and it better for 65k or about $75 the suspension can be dialed into your needs, or as close to them as possible. These are cool too...
  19. Has anyone ever remade panels themselves? I've thought about just going over to Home Depot and getting some thin plywood and taking the old panels and just tracing the wholes from the stock panels onto the new ones; doing some cutting, and then slapping them on with the original vynl...
  20. I know C.D. i didnt look into the situation completely like you told me to. I just assumed that the linkage was opening all the way because it appeared to, i never actually leaned over the door and checked. Sorry. But if we must bring up what i said in my previous post, The car still doesnt have as much power as i would like it to, but you dont always get whatcha want, and i understand that. And i dont have enough money to acheive the setup that i want, But the improvement that i experienced after doing what you told me to, was quite pleasing, and now the car rolls out pretty good for what it is. Now i wonder if it will hit 100 mph....hmmm
  21. and WOW!! The car runs like a champ. Amazing what happens when that second barrel actually opens all the way.... aha
