  1. One of the welds on my exhaust manifold (reactor type) seems to have broken after a good trip up the high way at 85 mph. ever heard of that happening before??'
  2. Alright, I'm curious about how many other previous owners my car has.... I registered the VIN on the registry, but it shows that i am the only registered owner. I was wondering if there was any other way to see how many people called my car their own...
  3. Has anyone ever tried to seal them with silicone or a similar substance?
  4. Same here. i have always called mine a dbl02 In fact my plate on my car is 2dbl02

  7. I can understand your anger. I experienced a similar feeling when i attempted to do civil business with 2002ad. I suppose you used Paypal to pay for the items? If you did, you can go through paypal to get your money back, or you can go through the credit card company that you have linked to the account. Hopefully i wont have to used the aforementioned route with ben at 2002ad.
  8. i agree with C.D. this is def. a parts car. And really only a useful one if the interior and some mechanics are worth that 500. damn.... that is one sad lookin car.
  9. LOVE the car.... I agree with Jason though, an S14 stroker would suit this car very well. Either that or an M10 turbo, whichever tickles your fancy... But nice work, and keep us updated !! Chris T.
  10. the belt line trim looks absolutely horrible, you would definitely need to move it or delete it completely. and the late style grills look like shit on a roundie. And the gauges are all fogged and look like shit. Other little things make me wonder.... Like the seat rails that are rusty and then the seats that are brand new. That and the engine bay looks pretty grimey...but you never know. usually engine bay pics are deceiving.. Well go check it out and let us know
  11. ahh i saw that the other night and was gonna post about it but i couldn't find a screen capture of it. my sister tried to tell me that i was crazy but i KNEW it was an 02.. Chris
  12. yeahh the learning curve is very steep. My buddy did it on his vee dub corrado, and he told me he started with a bare circuit board, and then he had to solder everything on it. Then it gets to be an even bigger bitch trying to tune it to get it to run right. But if your dedicated... I wanna try it one day.. seems like it would be fun. Chris
  13. We use the Damp rid for the boat after were done using it during the summer. Drop two or three of those cans in the cockpit, slap the cover on. Next morning it is dry as a bone in there. But i don't see why it seems to not work very well in your case... HTH, Chris T.
  14. I agree!! Daily driving the 02 is NOT sacrilegious!! I DD mine every day and i LOVE it. The only thing that i would say is a "no no" would be driving one on salted roads.... That might be a tic sacreligous... Chris
  15. The car isn't worth buying if it is at 2002ad. Nothing at 2002ad is worth it. You will end up paying an ass load of money for something, and three months later, when it finally shows up its the wrong damn part. ahh sorry about the rant.... Chris
  16. I think they look pretty cool, but they seem to sit to far in the the wheel wells.
  17. BUY THE FALKEN AZENIS Rt615. They are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only downside is that they dont have the longest life expectancy. But if your not to mean to them it will be ok. I have them on my 02 which i have E30 basketweaves on and love them
  18. "i got an engine out of a 1985 eurppean BMW M5" Clue numero UNO! bahah but what would be neat is the E39 M5 motor.....hmmmm talk about a MAJOR sleeper... Someone do it.
  19. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,313667/highlight,turbo/ Check that one out... Badasssssssssssss. To bad you only experience that 335 hp for like 2 seconds. but its better than what stock is so, what the hell. Basically, (someone correct me if im wrong here, but this is my understanding) EFI turbo's or Fuel injected turbo's are gonna have a more tunable powerband, and the power delivery will be smoother and cleaner. The carb'd version, as seen in that link, will have a more abrupt power curve, and (again correct me if im wrong) adjusting air/fuel and other mixture settings will be more difficult. But, it worked for the touring. And like it has been said before, ANYTHING is possible with money. Along with time and patience. HTH, Chris
  20. I wouldn't call the new owner of the truck, as it isn't his responsibility what the truck drivers do or did. If you have valid video evidence of the lsd being stolen, then you need to contact the police, and or contact the towing company present the evidence to them, and then not so kindly demand for your lsd back. Just my thoughts, Chris. P.S.- There was a point made about the two drivers not needing an old LSD from an old BMW, and while this is true, people steal. Especially people who think that they have some sense of entitlement to some of your stuff, because you are more successful than they are, and because of their social or economic status they should get a piece of your success right? and that diff was obviously part of your success? These circumstances seem like they have been in the news recently... i just can't put my finger it though....
  21. I know this is gonna sound like a stupid problem with an easy fix, but i can't find said easy fix... Anyway, my problem is that my left brake light doesnt work, the bulb isnt burnt out, and all the other lights in that light assy. still work. So, what could be the culprit?
  22. IF its a 32/36, then make sure that the throttle linkage is opening all the way. hang out the door with your foot on the floor (stationary of course), and see if you can open the throttle any more. Also, make sure you have the usual new plugs, dist cap, rotor, points, CONDENSER (little bastards). I had a similar problem on my '75 past 4k rpms, and after replacing all the above, and adjusting the throttle, the little four banger runs like a champ
  23. well, if the brakes are seized along with the clutch, and you have other mechanical issues, i would go with those first. Who cares if it looks pretty if it doesnt move.. Or, you could do them simultaneously. Most people do this, because body work takes a long time, and you then have time to tinker with all the mechanics.
  24. well damn, thanks man. Email Sent.
