  1. Apparently, they were a relatively small company providing electricals to several manufacturers, primarliy Italian auto makers, with each variation carrying its own name. - similar to Hella and Bosch electrics. I've never seen a pair of their foglights so I guess the price is what the market dictates. It's nice to have accessories that are somewhat unique IMHO.
  2. I think I'd wanna make sure I've fathered all the children I plan to before taking a ride on that.
  3. OK, we'll stick with that for now, unless enough people request the other style to make it cost effective.
  4. Should I be making the flush, the clear U.S. style or both? Ideally, I would make both and at some point I will consider that, but for now, which is more desirable to E21 owners? I already have one side done for the clear U.S. style, so I'll go ahead with that for sure. Esty, I'll be happy to take you up on your offer. Email me with details.
  5. I can make the flush ones if someone has a set I can borrow. The molding process is non-destructive and there would be an incentive for the donor...
  6. Bram, I started the same project, but never considered that my front strut brace is on the same plane as the stock air cleaner. Plan B will be to use a plenum and route a snorkel to a summer/winter box in the stock location and then on out in front of the radiator bulkhead. K&N has literally dozens of filter designs, shapes, sizes, etc. to use for a remote set-up. Email me if you want to discuss it further or share ideas.
  7. If you're serious, I can do that for ya.
  8. I could always tint your lenses to complement the turqoise...
  9. The lens pictured is a new casting that I did from a mold based on an original lens. I haven't made the mold for the other side yet, but I'm very pleased with the way this one turned out. I'm sending this one off to Esty today for her to test fit. I don't anticipate any issues, as this is an exact duplicate of the original. Once she reports back, I'll do the other side. I haven't determined a price yet. It will be considerably less than the '02 flush lenses because I won't have to fit these to a bezel before curing and go through all of the handwork involved with that process. I'm thinking that $75 a pair would be what to expect. I won't have time to provide these sets for a couple of weeks, but again, there won't be any turn around time involved with core bezels, etc. I don't know much about the E21, but have learned that the Euro flush lens for this model uses an entirely different bezel. If you were to purchase the flush lenses for a U.S. version car, there would be major modifications needed to make them work. You might want to ask Esty about her own experience with this. My lenses are clear versions of the U.S. amber lens, therefore, there would not be a fitment issue.
  10. I'm making a set of clear lenses for Esty's E21. If there is more interest I will make more sets when I find time. Email me directly for further details.
  11. Did you see the VDO washer bottle cap sell for $50 on Ebay a few weeks back? Unbelievable. I guess that's what can happen in an auction frenzy. I recently picked up a vintage bottle with cap in outstanding condition from a junkyard. The car had its hood up for who knows how long, yet it was still factory white.
  12. I'm working on an idea that appeals to me, but will produce more if even a few people are interested. Perhaps you've seen spare spark plug holders on various vintage cars. This was fairly common when plugs had a tendency to foul, even when the motor was in a good state of tune. The early ones I've seen are usually made of cast aluminum and tapped to receive the spare plugs, often in the same number required for that particular car. The one I'm working on will be a polycaronate box with clear cover, much like a mini fuse box and hold 2 plugs very neatly. It will be constructed of the highest quality materials with great attention to detail. Small flanges will be available to mount this either vertically, horizontally or loose in the glove box. The cover will be held with 4 SS knurled thumb screws and will feature a water and dust tight gasket. Is this a necessary accessory? No. And of course you could just throw some spares in your travel tool box. But I do find this kind of detail to be a neat little addition to a vintage car. My inspiration for this idea came from the plug holder on Meg's '67 1600. Pictures will be posted when the prototype is complete.
  13. Thank you, David. That's great information. I'll post what I come up with for a solution. K&N advertising refers to their variety of universal filters to be used with the plenum. My first task will be to find a suitable space.
  14. I was all set to replace my K&N rectangular filter with the stock set-up until I realized that my strut brace interferes. There was some reference to the universal K&N plenum recently. It can be purchased with a Weber adaptor. The design uses a remote air filter which ideally would be mounted where it can access air outside the engine compartment - much like the stock snorkel design does. The problem, as I see it, is finding a location for the remote filter without exposing it to bugs, road grit and the elements. (Thanks Mike) Has anybody tried this? Ideas or thoughts? Thanks.
  15. If it's in nice shape I'll take it. You can send me a Paypal invoice if that's OK. Thanks!
  16. Looking for just the air box so I can hook up an original air cleaner assembly. I don't need anything but the box that attaches to the snorkel on the radiator end.
  17. That's right, we were told that it's a 10,000 mile car! I think the oil burning speaks to the need to drive these cars. (Note to self.) Andrew, could you email me when you get a chance?
  18. What a great showing today in Portsmouth, NH! I won't go into the variety of BWM's that were represented as I'm sure others will post lots of pictures later. I did want to share a few shots of a beautiful original 1600 with only 30K documented miles. The car was driven from the owner's collection to the show by its "keeper". Enjoy!
  19. I'll be there. Not sure about tacos for breakfast though...
  20. Looking for a stock red fan in excellent condition with no color loss.
