  1. It'll be coming back down here soon to be completed in my garage, now that the B7 is at a cross-road between drive as is and undertake full restoration to take it to the next level. Finish the C1, drive the B7 whilst doing that (the "whilst" was for Nick) and when the C1 is done, take the B7 too the next level. At least that's the plan....
  2. Thanks. Both are correct but correct but yours, of course, is more correct: https://www.thoughtco.com/archaeology-spelling-169591
  3. Check out the latest Alpina B7 blog post: https://www.alpinab7.com/post/alpina-archelogy
  4. I would try the usual suspects: LaJolla Independent, Coupe King, Maximillian, and maybe Cahsel (here). Good luck. I do believe they have been NLA for a long time (as Mikle says) but maybe not any more?
  5. Your Dad had me negotiate with the insurance company after he flipped that car. He wanted to pay me but I just had rebuild five-speed transmission in exchange. Many years ago.......
  6. Brand new, still in factory wrapping tii k-fish pump pulley for sale. On back order from factory but available on eBay for $488 (here). Yours for only $350 including shipping to lower 48. If interested email me at joshuaweinstein@ymail.com -- yes, Ymail, not Gmail. Please, not PMs or posts here, just email.....
  7. Please come and free up some garage space for me and take my rusty old trailing arms. Email me at joshuaweinstein@ymail.com if interested -- yes, Ymail, not Gmail.
  8. It's jeff mulchahey and he introduced me to A4 systems and I spent a lot of time lusting over his Ceylon tii. Beautiful car. He sold the tii and got an e21 Hartge 323i and then moved on to Ferarris. Lost touch with him but he's in Indiana now IIRC.
  9. No airbox or throttle linkage. But it does look like it was touched by the hands of God -- or at least Alpina.....
  10. I have two new posts on my restoration blog for the the BMW/Alpina B7. There should be a third in a day or two on the suspension refresh. Hope you enjoy these: https://www.alpinab7.com/post/the-saga-of-the-seats and https://www.alpinab7.com/post/two-down-two-to-go-pandemic-progress
  11. I replaced the overdrive 5-speed on my 323i with a close-ratio transmission. Car had 129k when swapped and the overdrive unit shifted perfectly, no bearing noise. Asking $1000 but will listen to offers -- especially if I'm off on the price. Please email at joshuaweinstein@ymail.com (yes, Ymail, not Gmail). Please NO pms or messages here as I don't check as often as I should. No pics yet but it looks like a dirty, oily transmission.
  12. The cow was impressive but what really caught my eye was that you have a lower CCA number than me! I'm 14583 (IIRC, I know it's 145xx).
  13. There are no B9s in an e12. There were 2 e24 B9s and it was common in the e28. The B7 is a turbo -- first with Pierburg and then later with motronic. The B9 in normally aspirated, basically a built motor with a cam, forged higher compression pistons and a ported head. Truth be told, the B9 motor is something that could easily be recreated by any good machine shop nowadays. Alpina archive model listings
  14. It's running right -- for now? -- so I'm not messing with anything. If it deteriorates both suggestions may prove helpful. Thanks!
  15. Enjoy my latest blog entry: https://www.alpinab7.com/blog/getting-it-running-right-and-wondering-if-it-will-last
  16. I built similar to this, but 2.5 block. I think the block doesn't matter much myself. In my blog (link below) are posts about building the engine, including the final specs. TD crank, custom pistons, a nice cam (depending on your injection system) and you're good to go! BTW, I think it was originally thought up by somebody at Alpina, as that is what they used for the C1 2.7......
  17. Up for sale on eBay for about the 23,976th time..... I've texted exhaustively with the seller, talked to the mechanic who has worked on the car and have negotiated extensively about price. Happy to share my experiences with a serious buyer. In my opinion, if you live in California it has some value being already registered here but is about $10k overpriced still.....
  18. Cahsel doesn't have any right now (or didn't when I checked a few months ago) -- they always have it listed on the site IIRC. I'm sure coupeking is asking -- pun intended -- a king's ransom for that project car.....
  19. I'm not. I usually snipe eBay auctions right at the end but was busy Sunday so I bid earlier in the morning. If I "needed" to have another A4 system, I would have made a hole in my day at the time the auction was ending. I don't need it though. Like you, I have other projects that have been going on too long and, more importantly, no 2002 to put it in. I'll be surprised if the latter "problem" isn't solved sooner instead of later, but I've got the C1 to finish up and the B7 to massage. Do I "need" an A4 system when I have no 02, three project cars, one daily driver, my wife's car and only two garage spaces?
  20. When you decide to sell it, you know who to contact first (that would be me!).....
  21. I was the second highest bidder and am both disappointed and happy I did not continue bidding. A lot of money, yes. But I've owned 3 and the last one, Mark's old system that is now on the Inka touring, cost me $5,000 for complete system (with pump), like this one about ten years ago. Prices for 2002s have about doubled in that time, so I'm not surprised the price for this, much rarer than a 2002, has doubled as well. Would have been nice to build another one.....
  22. I bought my inka touring from Laurens and then visited him when I was in Holland. Would buy again from him without hesitation. Oh, Laurens, any word on that car we've been emailing about?
