  1. I'll fall somewhere inbetween. He is unquestionable (a) expensive and ( a pain to deal with. His work, if on a coupe, is above average or better and possibly even worth the downsides. His work on 2002s, where there are MANY more competent folks also in the field, fall a little lower and, personally, I would not bother putting up with his high price and other particularities. Or put more succintly, the man calls himself COUPEKING, not 2002KING.
  2. I can't believe it. Talk about insane modifications: Did you see that they put a 5-lug wheel on there!
  3. Money trouble, as in trouble. As far as I've heard he's abroad..... dot, dot, dot. Not surprising. He knew how to spend it quick. He was building this around the time he did the coupe and one of the 2002 turbos. The engine alone was six figures: http://www.carsauto.com/1996-porsche-c4s-s-car-go-custom-turbo-c-692.htm
  4. Paul, I could use one of those. Please email me at joshuaweinstein@ymail.com...
  5. I think you're right, now that I think about it again...
  6. Thanks -- between this and your picture I should be good to go!
  7. How about the time frame you had Pegasus do it and I will see if they have records...
  8. I'm helping build one for a friend....
  9. Bill, do you have the spec? Can you email it to me at joshuaweinstein@ymail.com? Thanks.
  10. Jason, I used to believe that but as I think about it now, I'm not sure I do. Consider this: (1) The cable is a fixed length overall, as is the sheath (regardless of where linkage and pedal ends are mounted). (2) The only relevant concern is the cable pull vis-a-vis the sheath at the linkage end. (3) Whether the “other” end of the sheath is attached to body or motor does not affect the length of cable vis-a-vis linkage-mounted end of the sheath. (4) Therefore, mounting of sheath on motor or body is irrelevant. Am I wrong?
  11. I seem to recall someone here fabricated an ALPINA A4 throttle cable (well, actually had one fabricated). I need one. Anyone else remember that? Any clue where I could find one?
  12. Steve, let me know when you're selling that e46...
  13. I'm going to be building an M10 soon for a friend. Frankly, hacking on that should satisfied any itch -- and maybe introduce a second career....

  16. I did machine own some 15x7s ALPINAs to fit an 02, but you can't take much off without putting structural integrity in question. Not a good option, especially on puny 13x5.5 rims that can be swapped out for the right offset...
  17. Fits all years, but one-piece is original for 74 and up.
  18. Shoot me an email at joshuaweinstein at ymail dot com......
  19. Good eye! It is less than perfect in that one spot, but not really disfigured. I think it looks fine myself and doubt the blemish can be seen from the driver's seat. The rest of the dash is perfect. Come by and take a peek. Make me an offer. Go to dinner in the City. Enjoy the fog! That's what summer in San Francisco is all about.
  20. And s99 is the winner. Send me an email at joshuaweinstein at ymail dot com. Nice try Armond. . (Actually, if you buy my dash, I'll try in the tires.....)
  21. many euro/replacement dashboards do not have the shift pattern stenciled in. Perfect for that five speed conversion!
  22. I have four 205/60/13 sumimoto tires with a good deal of tread left on them. They are free to anyone (other than Armond*) who wants to pick them up in San Francisco. * If you're wondering why not Armond, it's only because he has mooched so much free (or discount priced) stuff that it's time the free stuff goes to other equally (or more) deserving FAQers. And what has he done for me anyway, besides buying me a pretty good sushi lunch about five years ago?
  23. I have a crack-free one piece dash for sale. SOLD Thanks Steve, nice meeting you. Enjoy it!
