  3. R, Thanks so much. I lost mine while doing an interior detail. I tried finding a new screw at the local hardware store and after buying several screws all I ended up with is a useless screw collection. I decided to ask for one to buy on here. I will take you up on your offer. I will pay you for it plus postage.. The screw, your time and postage is worth something. I will PM you my address. Mike
  4. I am looking for the black screw that hold the dash mounted seat belt alert box. It fits on the right side of the box. I will buy the screw or the complete box. Thanks..... Mike
  5. He could have at least put the correct 1974 BMW alloy wheels on it
  6. Congrats Mike. You beat me by a couple of years!
  7. Most Z3 seats suffer from a broken bracket or something which causes them to rock back and forth when you brake. I am sure if you found them in a junk yard they will have this problem and will need rebuilding. There is a kit for this but it may be hard to get given their age.

  9. I think the best answer is no one gives a damn. We have discussed some very petty and mindless things on here but this will stand out as the best and the worst part of this is that I would still like to know the answer
  10. Manufactured on July 16th, 1974
  11. This is a mystery. I know my 74tii air-box straps were never painted black. I talked to a friend who isn't on the FAQ and is an original owner and his 74tii straps were not paint black either. I remember thinking back then that here I have a nice new car with a clean engine compartment and the straps on the airbox always looked like the were old dirty metal. They didn't look good at all. This is going to force me to dig into my box of pictures and hope I took a picture of my air box back in 1974.
  12. Steve.....thanks. Yes the pieces were cadmium plated. The strap clips on mine were never paint. It is easy to get a Varta battery. You buy a black Interstate. Peel all the labels off and apply a vintage Varta battery decal :). I love the look it gives the engine compartment and also the look on peoples faces that ask the same question. Mike D
  13. Karl, Here are some pictures of my original 74tii air box with. I am the original owner. I am not that great of photographer so I hope these help. If you need a pic of something specific on the box let me know. One day I hope to get the small dent out of the box I made by droping a wrench on it over 30 years ago :). Mike D

  17. Quickjack 5000TLX. Brand New out of box, assembled but never used. I paid $1690 but will sell for $1500, cash offers considered. Local pickup only. Springfield, VA. and surrounding areas. DETAILS: The 5000TLX is an extended-length lift with jack support locations that extend 6 inches farther than our TL models. QuickJack is the best car lift for your home garage or shop, and with the additional reach of the EXT, you’ll service more vehicles than ever. Great for light-duty trucks and SUVs. The 5000TLX has a 66" lift point reach that's long enough for virtually every consumer vehicle type out there (with the exception of certain electric vehicles, for which we offer the 6000ELX). Many auto detailing and repair shops can’t fit a full-size car lift in their space, and there hasn’t been an industry response to meet these needs. We heard the community’s call and immediately went to work perfecting the TLX series. It's our pleasure to introduce the world’s first professional-grade home car lift. Of course, commercial garages will get just as much use out of it. Automatic safety locks Features dual-position automatic safety locks on each TL frame. As the frames rise, these locks glide securely into place at mid-rise and full-rise. Disengage with a simple flip of the lock bar and your car lift is ready for a smooth descent. Increased lifting height QuickJack TL models are capable of lifting an extra 3-inches making it easier to perform vehicle maintenance tasks that are both routine and more involved. The extra room gives you more ability and versatility under the vehicle, while doing so in added comfort. One-handed operation By holding the pendant control in one hand, your other hand is totally free. No cranking or bending during lifting. Accessories to increase versatility Most QuickJack accessories were developed from customer suggestion and need. We offer many different lifting options and configurations to customize your QuickJack experience to fit your needs and specifications. Lifting capacity 5,000 lbs. 19. Vintageblau can offer you the exact radio that came in your 2002 but with all the modern upgrades. I have purchased a few radios from him but none with the modern upgrades but the quality of radios that I received was outstanding so I would have no doubt that the upgraded radios would be anything less. http://www.vintageblau.com/
  20. Lets go with original owners with 74tii's live longer. Since I am almost certain I am the oldest with a 74tii knowing that I will have many more years with my car is comforting
