  1. I know that Korman sells a 4.22 kit and he recommends it with the 5 speed OD trans mod I have heard of racers running 4.56's and even 4.75's Cheers Justin
  2. I have a set with the D shaped holes but I do not know if they will accept hub caps. They have the bottle cap style centers and the beauty rings are rough. The wheels are in good shape other than paint and they have good goodyear rubber on them. Let me know JB
  3. I just took back my second one in 1.5 years for my 4Runner. The electrics in the 4Runner are fine, IMHO the red top is a POS. JB
  4. In adittion to www.realoem.com you can go to Walloth and Nesch's sit and download the catalog (basically the same as real oem). Once you have the part #'s try BLUNT or www.bmw-auto-parts-dealer.com at the site you will have to type in the part numbers because their site does not go back far enough for our cars. They do however have really good prices on factory stuff. Blunt can generally beat them by a few bucks though. Cheers Justin
  5. Here are some new pix. Rabid Chicken syndrome Delorean? Pix do not do them justice. Before After Cheers JB
  6. It looks like Amazonas to me but I have a hard time with greens. JB
  7. Impact gun Air wratchet 3/8's and 1/4" die grinder cut-off tool INGERSOLL RAND, INGERSOLL RAND, INGERSOLL RAND. DA's are nice too but I do not think your compressor will keep up. Cheers JB
  8. I take off the compliance arms and then put a 4x4 across right under the jack points then sit the 4x4 on the jack stands. VERY sturdy. JB
  9. The storage lien is a little different than a Mechanics lien, I can"t remember the details it has been a long time. JB
  10. In Ca. it is. It takes 30 days. It is a tow yard trick. Cheers JB
  11. lien sale it to yourself. Say that you have been storing it, then you put a lien on it. DMV will go to the last title holder and jack them for the amount. If they do not pay then DMV will release the title to you. Works in Ca. Charge like $20 a day for the entire time you have had the car so that there is no possibilty of the last title holder paying up. Good Luck JB
  12. The sheet metal "kick plate" below the rear seat bottom works amazingly well. JB
  13. Saturday the 10th. Chris (Cj) Padagas is hosting a tech session at his shop on Quarry lane in Pleasanton. I believe there are going to be three guest speakers, coffee, danish and lunch. JB
  14. Did you try downloading their browser Flock. If you download flock and then upload the photos to flock the pix will show in a band at the top of the screen. Then you can just drag and drop from that band into your post. I have found that it works best if you put 3 or 4 spaces in between the pix. Good Luck JB
  15. Thanks, I saw that too but I was under the impression that that was just the long block. 78 pounds wouldn't be that hard the battery is almost 20% by itself. JB
  16. Can anyone tell me the weight difference between a fully built M20 conversion and stock. I am going to be going fiberglass with the bonnet and I am deleting the bumper and its supports. I know that I will have to fab a new radiator support and I am also planning on adding some tubing between the frame rails in the nose to add some rigidity. I am now considering fiberglass fenders in an attempt to keep the weight ratios as close to stock as possible. So my question is what is the net difference between engines with all the ancillary stuff ~100 lbs.? TIA JB
  17. The fiberglass ones in the store are reputed to be really nice depending on your application you may consider. Cheers JB
  18. You could call Jeff Ireland in Duarte, I bet he could put you on a good one. Cheers JB
  19. Mobile Traditions sells the manuals. I believe Bav auto also offers them they are ~$90. There is always www.realoem.com for a parts finder and I believe that Walloth and Nesch allows you to download the same type files from their site. Don't jump on buying that CD let this thread go for a while because there are guys who will burn a copy for you. Cheers JB
  20. The e30 guys are doing set ups with TB's off of Suzuki GSXR's the one write up I read on e30tech was using the ones off of a 600 but I bet the ones off of an 1100 would be a little bigger. Cheers JB
  21. I thought I should update. We are saving for a welder right now, so we are kind of at a stand still. We need to fab a frame with wheels so that we can send the shell off to media blasting. We have Deloreanesque doors with not as many defects as I expected. We have Rust to the point of the looking glass at both rear bumper tie points. We have the rabid chicken syndrom on the rear panel. We are shopping the local pick-and-pulls for the M20 donor. The pix from tonight came out like crap so I will take some tomorow in full light and post them. Cheers JB
  22. John, What happened to the rubber bush on your spring perch? I would hate to see that beautiful work get all jacked up by the coil springs JB
  23. Checkout this link http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,285485/ Miller article on cage building I am an electrician so I would mock-up with emt, but you could relly use anything as long as the outside radius is correct. You may want to do a "test" bend with the DOM to find the actual inside and outside bend radii and then you could mock the cage with brake line tubing or copper tubing. I would suggest something that is easily hand bent. It seems like the muffler pipe would be like building 2 cages. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out. I am considering doing the same later this year JB
  24. That is what is in my '76. JB
