Planning out the install of my Becker Europa II in my shorty console. Or maybe a modern head unit. Either way I have a shorty console and a blank slate in terms of how I will mount the head unit. Permanent setup is 4 speakers, a sub and an amp, but the temp could be a mono setup in the centre console so please show me what you have in terms of the console layout. Hi Jim The Amazon covers are the somewhat later and still current covers...they will fit no problem, but I want an earlier set of covers...I restored an old set for the M2 so I guess I want them to be period-correct. Somewhere along the way Cibie dropped the "Projecteurs" and "Iiode" from the mold. I actually have one old cover that I got in an odd lot of Oscar parts, but no matching partner. New Old

Here's a vid of the M2 making some great noise during a dyno tune. The hand on the TB's is because we're not pulling quite enough throttle cable with the current pedal configuration.

Indeed I did sell the tii a few years ago thinking I was close to finishing the M2 and it wouldn't get the same attention/drive time. The buyer was in the Silicon Valley area and apparently resold it owing to a divorce. Would love to see a pic if someone sees it.

Apologies for the stunning lack of updates. The car will be dyno tuned next week and then it's on to headliner, glass, interior etc. I will be driving it down to the Vintage..1300km or so, should be a great drive. In the meantime, here is a test of loud and quiet exhaust modes. Original setup was a small cat, big mid-pipe resonator and a rear muffler with a valve to a dump pipe. We cut out the existing resonator because it was too quiet, even with the valve actuated which bypasses the rear muffler. So right now I have a rear muffler in quiet mode and a straight pipe with cat in loud mode. We will be adding in a small resonator to guard against highway drone. In the vid it starts in loud mode then quiet, then back to loud.

If that engine is built properly that's still a great deal. You can spend way more sourcing all the bits and pieces and doing a rebuild after buying a donor for $5k+ if you can find one. They key is the "if" with the build. Any S14 M2 project will drain your wallet faster than a cocaine habit. -

Remarkable achievement! Well done. question- where do you get the BBS halves for the race wheels? I have a set of vintage BBS 13" race wheels but they need a full rebuild. -

Still pushing for a maiden voyage in the spring. The driveline is buttoned up and the S14 will be dyno tuned after XMAS. Then headliner, glass, interior, stereo, trim, shakedown.... Quick vid of the 5 speed action sans motor

Well if you don't mind veering off the straight path you could build or buy a rear subframe that accepts an E30 Medium case diff...Rob Torres at 2002 Haus makes a beautiful rear subframe for this. Then buy yourself a Rogue E36 Finned diff cover to fit on the Med case E30 diff of your choice. http://www.rogueengineering.com/Rogue-Engineering-E36-Finned-Differential-Cover_p_75.html
