  1. Will Superlites in the rear fit with the usual kosei's or team dynamics wheels?
  2. I'd like to disagree with the common consensus here. Ex: Bob Ball in his DM s14 2002 consistently places in front of all JP, IP and HP cars. Only the CMod guys running race s50b30/s54 setups run in front of him.
  3. Is that the suggested size or the only size? You can get a Wilwood proportioning valve from Ireland for 50$, not a big deal.
  4. Do you know which driveshaft was used with the 265 tranny?
  5. I think the VAC pan is well worth it and will be getting one shortly. Took my first ride in a e30M3 last weekend, low and behold it spun a bearing. Motor had a stock pan with baffle. I have three friends who race e30m3 JP cars, all three have VAC pans and oil pressure gauges. They have never seen their oil warning lights flicker, while set at 30psi. That right there is enough to convince me to buy a big VAC pan. Ian, were you able to use the stock s14 oil pump and pickup with this pan?
  6. Well then that was a very very tired S14, thats not even up to stock numbers at the crank. A chipped healthy S14 should be putting at least 170-175. Doesnt anyone do their own conversions anymore? Sheesh.
  7. Dropping a S14 along with the US265 tranny into my 2002. I want to use a e21 diff as well. Can someone please fill in the blank with 100% absolute confidence as to which driveshaft will work without modifications? Ive searched and emailed and I still havent found a sure answer. Some say they think the e30m3 driveshaft will fit without modifications, I also read somewhere that a 2002 automatic ds will work.
  8. For using the 265 tranny, i remember someone using the e30 tranny brace. But I see that the e30M3 tranny brace differs from the other e30 non-Ms tranny brace. Which one should i get?
  9. Nick, so its definitely not possible to bang the manual tunnel enough to fit the 265? It HAS to be cut and new sheet metal welded in?
  10. autox this weekend at Mineral Wells.
  11. Anyone with a m20 '02 wanna give me a ride? Was set on the s14 but i need to make sure. Why arent any of you guys showing up for auto-x? Sad that theres so many 02's here yet I havent seen a single one since i started attending more than a year ago.
  12. are you telling me i could get my front door modified to work with my car key?
  13. Im still very confused on which tranny/lsd combo to go with. It seems everyone has a different opinion on what works. How hard was it to find the m3 CR tranny? Did you have to fab a new tunnel?
  14. Suspension, brakes and a full welded in cage are part of the 40k$ price tag. not sure why youre talking about lightening a e30m3, i want this car to take down more than just e30m3s
  15. Hello. I recently bought a 1976 2002 as a second car while I put my e30 down for paint and to stroke the motor. I bought the '02 with the intention of turning it into a stripped-down track-only M2. The appeal of a ~260hp 2.5L s14 in a <1900 lb car intrigues me greatly. I know of the rediculous cost of upgrading/upkeeping a s14 so no lectures needed on that front. I dont see myself getting out of this project for less than $40k if done correctly. Thats fine, IF its worth it. Its just that every article I read about M2s, the owner doesnt seem like he got what he wanted out of the project, a bit disappointed if i may. Are there some inherent characteristics in this chassis/powertrain combination that keep it from being an absolute track monster? Ive read of the axle hop, how bad is it really? Im not putting an m20 in there so its either a complete balls-out m10 or a s14. I think you can get much more from a s14 albeit at a much greater cost. So, comments, advice, suggestions, experience?
