  1. I'm coming from Colorado Springs. Visiting family in OKC area enroute. See everyone on Thursday afternoon, 1 June at the motel.
  2. Similar to my story, my 74 tii 2780763 had a 72 tii motor in it, 2762096. I knew that Jeff Ireland had parted out 2762096 in the late 90's due to rust issues. It took me nearly 20 years to reunite my 74 tii with the correct number matching motor. That story is best told over a few beers....
  3. This shop repairs Kugelfisher pumps and ships worldwide. They overhauled my pump 20 years ago and no issues since. Fuel Injection Center Specializing in Mechanical Fuel Injection WWW.FUELINJECTIONCENTER.COM Mechanical Fuel Injection Repair and Service. Specializing in Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection.
  4. I used a 3rd brake light from a 87 E30 along with Bluntech LED brake/tail lights.
  5. Have you tried these fog light brackets? 2002 auxilliary lamp brackets WWW.PROBIMMER.COM
  6. You'll enjoy the stiff suspension if you have twisty roads nearby. My 74 tii has Eibach springs, Bilstein sports, ST swaybars, poly bushings, and 15X7 wheels, no regrets.
  7. I got hold of them a couple of days ago, they are backlogged and very busy. All good now, M44 crank sensor adapter order for a M42 motor is on its way.
  8. Metric Mechanic voicemail is full, they are not answering phone calls, emails, or messages left on their website. Anyone have knowledge of their current status? I'm hoping that they are on spring break vacation.
  9. +1 on a motorsport wheel with a regular BMW roundel instead of a motorsport roundel. Look in page 2 of this thread.
  10. When it's done, it should look like this.
  11. E30 sport steering wheel, +1 on this wheel being on E30 soft top models prior to airbag wheels being standard on 1990 E30 models. Cheap upgrade from base 4 spoke wheel. I upgraded both of my daughters E30's to this wheel. https://www.rtsauto.com/e30-steering-wheel-options/
  12. Mike, If you can't find Euroweaves at a decent price, keep an eye out for 15" aftermarket basketweave wheels. I found these 15X7 ET26 MSW basketweaves on Craigslist a few blocks from my house for $160 a few years ago. Seller had them on a FWD Honda and said he had fitment issues, duh! Perfect offset to run on my tii or E30, they are on my tii at the moment. Bonus, no style 5 big plastic center cap to lose.
  13. The plastic wheel covers only came on the 91 E30 318i sedan. I've got four covers and three 14X5.5 steel wheels along with a lead where to pick up the last steelie close to me.
  14. I own a US spec 91 E30 318i sedan. The US spec 1991 four door E30 318i came with the M42 motor. The US market never received the M40 that came in the Euro E30 318i sedan and the Euro sedan's didn't receive the M42, only Euro coupe models received the M42. My 318i is an original So Cal car, bought from the original owner in 2006 with 118K miles for $1.2K. The DiamondSchwarz paint is toast but it's rust free and never been hit. The original vinyl interior has been replaced with an oxblood red leather interior. Plans are to repaint in the original color in the next year or two. Upgrades include 15X7 ET26 wheels, Supersprint cat back exhaust, Conforti chip, H&R springs/swaybars, Koni sport shocks, new bushings, LSD, M-Tech2 steering wheel. To enjoy a M42 powered vehicle is to drive it like you stole it. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Four door practicality with a much lower price compared to the 318is coupe.
  15. Depends on year and mods done to a tii. Stock roundie tii's will hold their value more than a restomod roundie tii. I will argue it's a different story for a square tail light tii that's a restomod. A restomod 74 tii with tasteful mods will bring more value than a stock square tail light tii with diving board bumpers. Case in point, here's my restomod 74 tii. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/registry/2780763-r51/ I'm just making my tii look like BMW intended it to look before DOT got involved here in the US. I made it look like they do in the ROW. I'll take a square tail light 02 with Euro bumper conversion any day over a roundie, that's just me. Purists now hate me.
  16. You could post your parts request in the Classified WTB Forum of the FAQ.
  17. Not many local shops carry 13, 14" or 15" wheels. If they do, the offset for the wheels is usually for a FWD car.
  18. Now that you have an aftermarket steering wheel for your 02, you realize that you can't stop at one. This thread will give you some ideas to build your collection. AMHIK!
  19. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) does not like Euro spec cars in CA, even if it is pre-smog. CARB has made it very difficult to register Euro spec cars in CA. That's probably why it's titled in Montana. Here's my horror story of trying to register a Euro spec E12 in CA that had been in the states for over 25 years. I wrote this nearly 14 years ago and I hear that it has gotten much tougher to register Euro spec cars in CA since then. Car of the Month - May 2009 WWW.FIRSTFIVES.ORG
  20. The two So Cal tii guru's are Jack Fahuna and Bill Holmes. Bill may be retired by now but his shop is on Mussey Grade Rd in Ramona CA. Do a search on Bill Holmes in this forum to learn more.
  21. T This pic of the seam cover doesn't look anything like the seam cover that I received from WallothNesch The WN seam covers had no slots.
  22. I have a cat back Supersprint exhaust in my M42 powered 91 E30 318i. Love the sound.
  23. Mike, don't forget carburetor repair shops. That's another shop that used to be common along with old school auto electrical shops that rebuilt starters/alternators. If you know someone who can rebuild your carburetor and dial it in, make sure that you reward that person with their favorite beverages as a bonus, it's becoming a lost art. BTW, the last vehicle sold in the US market with a carburetor was a Isuzu pickup in the early 90's.
  24. 2780925, ten away from your VIN was built on 9 JAN 74. I would bet that your tii was built on that day or the day before. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/registry/2780925-r472/
