  1. There are many ways to help the k-fischer deliver more fuel - more fuel is easy. The difficult part is getting it to deliver the right amount of fuel which is more work. More fuel is not always better, you want the right amount of fuel. When I was dialing in my Alpina system the delivery was good too rich in some places and too lean in others - dumping more fuel woudn't have made things better but worse, in the end the pump proved to be more then adequate - the linkage is what needed work.
  2. If my notes are correct then the hose is 11151252665 and the cowl drains are 64214474121
  3. If you are thinking about stroking your tii you will need to look at optimising the intake. The K-fischer pump is actually quite capable (with work) of delivering the enough fuel but it will never be optimised like an EFI system. That being said my 2.3 tii engine with alpina intake and some custom linkage on the kuglefischer pump puts out very close to 150 @ the wheels on a mustang chassis dyno and the fuel deliver is very good. The torque curve is also very flat and significantly higher then stock. If you are serious about doing it, please email me and I can share some of what I have learned. anaphe@gmail.com
  4. Hi Blunt, I have done 6 boxes all nearly indistinguishable from stock. Go to a fabric store and find some suitable grey felt. Use a can of 3 trim adhesive and spray both sides, let tack and then begin to apply. It is tricky to get it to conform to the curves but with a bit of work and some careful stretching the felt - stretch too far and it will rip. Anthony
  5. If you paid with your credit card, then dispute the transaction and you will get your money back ASAP and the charge will be reversed on Al's end. If he can't produce proof that he sent it IE a waybill etc then they will go after him and will get the money asap. My rule is only use a credit card when dealing with any vedor. I am also very weary of vendors that charge upfront with no visibility of a ship date. I seem to recal that Lee V only charged a deposit and then balance once the product was ready to be shipped. This is the way it should be. Funny I am selling some big brake parts to a guy on the FAQ and he expressed some serious reservations about sending money and dealing with a Canadian as he too was waiting for stuff from Al and was also told it was lost in the mail . I have probably had over 200 transactions via post and only ever had one not work out - recently with Cam A who sent a ring and pinion and to date it hasn't arrived, we worked out a deal and he stayed in contact the whole time. Also when I send anything via parcel post, I keep the receipt and way bill just in case, sometime it takes a while but it usually gets there. IMO 6 weeks is about the Max time it should take from Canada to US. Good luck.
  6. Yep, Next 2002 I build will have a rotor (3 rotor, periferal port). We are putting one in a sheridan motorsports bodied 914 race car right now. 400bhp non turbo. Anthony

  8. Sketchy maybe but this is how Metric Mechanic used to do it! Anthony
  9. Shit- who's making that much? I'm at 150 crank in an IT- legal motor with sidedrafts, and Gordon's limited- prep F motor's 140+ at the wheels. Anybody else got numbers? t Hi Toby, My stroker motor with 304, hemi head and pistons and alpina injection makes IIRC 145hp@6400 rpms at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno. This is a very streetable daily driver though I hardly every drive it.
  10. Hey the Inn at Tres Pinos... I've been there Merry Christmas Michael! Anthony
  11. Hi Harv, It is on the http://e30m3performance.com/ site. Great site.
  12. Weren't you the one that started some ridiculous poll about Esty? I think it is funny how the people who protest the most seem to fuel people like Esty's ego the most. Its all about ego. It's funny you post "the answer" to Esty and end up creating a post with 25+ posts. I have given up caring about the posts. A long time ago the FAQ board ceased to be an enthusiast DIY board and is now a social community - not a bad thing - just it has evolved into something new. C'est la vie.
  13. Hi Sean, Please email me, I may have just the car for you. Anthony anaphe@gmail.com
  14. Hi Toby, Believe it or not I think the e90 is a great car. I was invited to testdrive the new xi models at the track and apart from the styling (which usually takes me a few years to warm up to) the cars , are awesome, so good it is scary, but again they take a lot of the driving out of it. They are great cars, bmw continues to push the performance and technology envelope.
  15. hi Tim, I have driven e30 m3's and have always found them "vanilla" (flame suit on). I also have an e30 m3 that I am putting back together after the owner started a cosmetic restoration and ran out of time and money. Maybe I will sell that one once it is finished - I don't know I guess I am spoiled but to me the e30/s38 is no different then my Subaru Legacy wagon - it is a point A-B car. Honestly the e30/s38 is awesome - but I find myself longing to drive my inka car or the race car. And when I get out of the car I don't find myself smiling in the same way
  16. Hi Everyone, I thought I should touch base as it has been a long time. The FAQ used to be part of my daily routine but for numerous reasons I try to only log on once a week or so other then the odd drive by. I have been driving my s38 powered e30 for about 6 weeks now. The car is awesome from a raw performance standpoint – goes like stink. Other then that the car doesn’t have any soul. At least not compared to the 2002! From a driving standpoint it is much more refined then any 02 I have owned. Goes (s38), turns (17" e46 wheels) and stops (e36 m3 coilovers and brakes) better for sure. It is still raw compared to the e46 or e90 for sure but compared to the 2002 it is boring. But what it lacks is the visceral experience that a 2002 provides. Now granted I have not had it out at the track yet – but I have driven many race cars, high performance sports cars and exotics and my inka 2002 beats them all from a pure Freude am Fahren standpoint. It even beats my 02 race car from a pure giddy’ness metric. The fact that the Inka car leans a bit (in the corners) is what makes it enjoyable – it allows you to experience the road and all the feedback. The race car with relatively low HP, Low CG and very stiff suspension makes for kind of a sterile ride. Compared to a high HP, moderate street sport suspension and all the Alpina bits makes for a kid in a candy store ride. I remember when a fellow instructor who owns a factory Gt40 took the inka car for a ride and came out smiling “Man that is a fun car!” So it is not that I am stuck in the past or can't move on, but as far as toys go I would rather "play" with ones that are the most enjoyable. Obviously my e30 is extremely modified as is my inka car. These are not daily drivers although the e30/s38 has been religated to DD duty. The fact I have to pick my parking lots carefully due to the low ride height detracts from the DD experience but it also adds another dimension too Also because we are under snow 6 months of the year I don't have the luxury of driving my toys every week. Anyway if you are with (driving) your 02 this holiday season give it a hug for me
  17. Lee I just sent you an email and it bounced can you email me? Says your address is no longer valid @ sympatico.ca A
  18. 1. Remove 2. Clean out all rust and scale 3. seam seal (brushable) 4. Install 5. Re-seam seal the drail Why weld? Welding will not prohibit rust from forming. You will probably distort the metal and will have some clean up?
  19. I hate you guys. it is close to -40 right now (celcius or Farenheit its the same) and our cars are packed away for the winter. My first event isn't until May! Anthony 1970 race car
  20. It totally depends on what your crank measures to. You need to see what the size is before you commit to a bearing size Here is a good post by John Aho
  21. Tom, All vendors I know, have designs already made to work with your stock head and Kerman is no different so if you call Ireland as an example they have an e12 design with relocate pin height. Cost is $550 to $700. No need to send you head out but you will need to bore or hone your block.
  22. There is a lot of information that can be found in the search, but the skinny is: Stroker crank by definition means more stroke in this case 4mm which translates into 2mm up and 2mm down. If you use the stock rods and pistons with an s14 (84mm crank) your pistons will stick up 2mm proud of the block. So you need to use pistons that have the pin height relocated up 2mm. The stock rod (135mm) is pretty low (1.68) in the rod/stroke ratio department and when you add a s14 crank it gets worse (1.60 - considered by many builders to be the absolute minimum) , so most people elect to go with the longer 144mm rod from the s14/s38 motors. think about it why did BMW go to the longer rod? Many m10 builders also use the long rod in a otherwise stock motor (m10) and just this AM I noticed that Ireland Eng. is advocating the use of a long rod and they have some very beefy and relatively cheap (in the money department which is good!) rods for sale on their site. Long rod, short rod, oversquare, short stroke all have different characteristics and I would suggest that anyone would do their own research to see which features are the most congruent with the intended use for their motor. In general terms a short stroke will make more torque sooner and a long stroke can help with breath up higher (increase dwell at TDC and slow down piston speed) Now if you go to the longer rod (+9mm) the pin height needs to be relocated an additional 9mm to account for this. Anthony
  23. Ick. I hope you are joking.
  24. Nothing worse then shady dude chroming. it is expensive becuase there are a lot of steps and if you do any of them wrong it will show and look like ass Anthony
  25. hi cyrus, why not look at use BBS module wheels like RM's and RS's, lots availble through the local VW guys, you can order outer shells in any dimension you want from Kodiak. Just a thought. You may also be able to have the 4x114 re-drilled to 4x100.
