A CAD file of the scanned parts would be awesome, would make the whole blueprinting process of the parts muuuuuuch easier.

Of course I would still actually need the printed part to have them replicated but the CAD file would be great to have the blueprint in order for everyone who needs it, can get hold of it...

I seriously envy you guys here in Uruguay we are years away from such technology...

By the way, I'm big a Autodesk fan, been using AutoCad since I was 15 now working my way into Inventor, Aliasstudio and 3d Max...

Cheers,

Bruce

Well as promised, today I went out to a machine shop to get the parts quoted...

As expected the numbers aren't pretty, to have just the worm replicated the price would be around 800USD that is just for the worm, the roller is quite simple so its less. Given the finished product would be the same or even better quality as the original since I've seen these guys work and its superb...

This is why I need to have the Quick Ratio Steering model to compare the parts because I'm sure I can find a compatible worm and roller gears in one of our shops here for less...

Tell me what you think guys...

has anyone tried making an 02 adapter kit for a steering quickener?

I haven't, because the steering ratio has never been a problem for me.

Gearbox- you bet! Shock travel- of course! Stock rod bolts- that's next!

Hubs? Already went 320. Brakes- All discs. Booster- gone. Fenders?

Flared! Rear springs? Coil-over-shock. Steering (and linkage)? Stock.

Seriously. Not an issue for me

Cheaper to buy a smaller steering wheel ;-)

With my e21 rack conversion I had to shorten the steering arms in order to bring the ratio back in line with stock - it turned out to be a little quicker, with no noticable extra effort required to turn. So there's no reason why fitting shortened steering arms to an otherwise stock 02 set-up wouldn't give you a quicker ratio for very little moola. Half on topic, but just a thought.

Good luck with your worms!
