..... i know Renault, MG, and ALFA don't sell cars here

anymore - but I'm sure you can still find a BMW car dealer

somewhere that sells 2002 parts ? I think there's about 340 (+/- a few)

BMW car dealers, and about 150 BMW motorcycle dealers.

YES! - BMW still makes motorcycles !

just plug in your ZIP Code and go shopping

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Dealer/Default.aspx

I think they come in a cute packaged tray of 8-filters

really cute package - ask your dealer

dealerships = a$$ rape.

a MUCH better (cheaper) alternative is DAS AUTOHAUZ! :D

i wub az.com ;) extremely low prices, fast FREE shipping if you order more that $50, and they ONLY sell OEM parts (so its just like going to a dealer without the anal rape part). MAHLE is the filter you want by the way.

only thing is .. you gotta pad the order to that magical $50 number (hell, not hard to do, its an 02 after all) to get some of that free shipping action. ;)

Dude, they're 5 bucks & change at the dealership, and they have them in stock.

oh i didnt know that. last time i went to the dealer for something it was something like $7 for a $1 o-ring.. ;-)

i just order from der hauz and get five or six at a time (they are $4.58 there), along with a few other items to get the free ship (you know theres always something else you need), they come right to the house and etc etc.... ;)

check again, i think youll find oil filters to be in the 9 dollar range at the dealer currently. that a steal at autohausaz

now that you mention it az.com is showing the list at $9.83, so i wouldnt be at all surprised to see dealers charging that much. i suppose it might depend on which dealer. i could see possibly charging normal, non-inflated prices for stuff like filters just to get you in the door so you buy $1 o-rings for $7 "while you're in there"... ;)

Where can I find an OEM Oil filter for my 76 2002?

IE's discount warehouse site currently lists the Mahle filters at $6.05...

http://tinyurl.com/cgphwk or http://www.discountbmwautoparts.com/

heh... even higher list prices than az, not to mention actual sale prices. az also has those bosches at around $3.50 (would never use em, just saying..)
