Is this where you find the dizzy number?

It says "0231 188 002" Is this a TII one or a 2002 one?

Yes that is the dizzy #. And it is a replacement for a '72-73 Tii Distributor. Do you need the #'s for proper high performance points and condenser for it? I can do that.

That Distributor is also known by another Bosch #, ID48X.

It's not original equipment for tii or standard 2002.

Part# 0 231 188 002 was sold by Bosch as an aftersales replacement for the discontinued tii distributor (Bosch# 0 231 151 008 or BMW #12 11 1 355 273.)

Bosch listed the 0 231 188 002 for the ti + tii for spares, but it was not OE.

See the image below, it's the second one down the list of distributors.

The cool performance points for a 0 231 188 002/ID48X 2002tii mechanical advance replacement for the "008" distributor are.... ready....

Still digging up the # for the condenser....

Thanks. Do you guys think that my carb backfire could be the cause of bad points, cap&rotor and condenser? Oh BTW, this is for my other 2002 with dual side drafts and the same kind of distributor found on my tii.

to the condenser. We fiddled with the dizzy, even removed it to check it over. Ended up tightening the spade clip connection solved the problem.
