Shift boot options in 2002?

My shifter comes straight up through the floor without the counsel and is currently bootless, what is a good option for this?

i used the internal one off of an e30 works perfect

I use a inner cv boot off a e46 front axle. Works pretty darn good and keeps the shifter centered.

I don't mean to steal your thread, but I do have the 320i boot and I was just wondering what you guys would suggest to mount it down. Right now it's out and about everywhere.

two different (kind of... the a/c consoles were different too) consoles were issued for the 02

Short and long

the short console cars had a spot welded ring on the tranny tunnel and the long console cars did not.

your stock options are...

A get a long console and you'll have a place for a stock boot

B find an early 02 donor and drill out the spot welds, use self tapping sheet metal screws, rivets, or a welder and weld the ring to your tranny tunnel and BOOM... you've got a stock setup that isn't "rigged"

You should also specify your year-

pre 71.5 cars have the ring for the rubber 'nipple' style

welded to the body, later cars just have a hole in 'em.
