The guy I got the motor from a few years back put a chip in it. I never got a clear answer weither it was Conforti or Dinan or what. I think it's pirated, but it does advance the timing.

Just dropped the s14 in a couple weeks back. Now to do the remaining 95% of the job! Shooting to get her ready for summer. It would be great to have a forum for s14 conversion discission, though! Hate to clog up the regular discussion forum....

Ah, I was wondering more about the lack of afm. Or is it just not visible from the pic angle?

Just stock with a KN

Ah. That's more illuminating!

Apha n helps a bit, maybe 15hp on a stock motor and better response.

Cheers,

I'll add it to the never ending list of things I need to do. Of immediate concern is updating to the s50 chain tensioner and replacing the rear seal in the trans.

I have the motor out of 1988 with 86K on the clock, still looking for a suitable donor car for the transplant. I found a 75 for $1500, but someone snatched it up before I could get down there to take a look. I have been collecting odds and ends, 5-speed with 93K, oil pump, windage tray, etc.

I would like to consider Megasquirting this instead of using the stock motor management, but would like someone else to do it successfully, before I go down this path. Anyone do this yet?

Thanks,

Dropped the S14 into the 2002 back in '95, and it's been fun and reliable. Took the car apart a couple of years ago to paint, and got bogged down with a low of "while you're in there's". Learned to weld, taught my daughter to weld, and now we are working together to get the car back on the road. We plan to put a cage and modified suspension it this summer, but lately I've been spending more time under the car than in it...

I have the engine, gearbox, etc. I am planning to toss in new bearings, rings, E36 EVO tensioner, gasket, seals, etc.

Does anyone have a workshop manual for sale?
