gauge cluster removal

anybody know the procedure for removing the gauge cluster .i need to remove the whole thing. does it come out the front or the back and do i have to get each gauge out first or can their all come out together

run yer hand up the back side -

and remove your two nutts -

disconnect the speedo cable before yanking out to you.

2 nutts ( #10 ) on the back

Once the speedo cable and the knurled nuts are off (don't drop them as they have a way of getting lost in the wiring!), gently push the top of the cluster outward toward the steering wheel from the back and you will see how the assembly just slides right out. I always use a towel to protect the dash and steering column from scratches.

thru 1969 also had two small screws at the top of the plastic cluster housing (on the underside) that must be removed before the cluster will come out. Later cars use exactly the same cluster, but without the screws.
