Yup, FWD. As was the original. There would have to be some very major changes in engine mounting, steering, and much more to get a Mini engine in there. And I think by doing so you would lose the best qualities of both cars. Just my two cents! I love them both....

A friend of mine is a big fan of the late 1980s Olds HO QuadFour. In stock form it produces about 190HP with gobs of torque. Turbocharging brings it up to about 250.

A company in Ohio, MantaPart, makes a RWD conversion kit to fit several different transmissions. You'd have to fab some mounts, but it can be done!
