How much do you guys/gals pay for your annual DMV fees?

In Massachusettes I paid $35 to renew my registration for two years and I paid $29 for the annual safety/emissions check this year...so the total annual cost comes to $46.50 which is reasonable I guess.

....for Historic Personalized Plates. Free renewal every four years. I opted to get plain Historic Plates for the coupe, it was $ 41, with free renewal every four years. Cars w/ Historic Plates are exempt from inspection in NJ. Only caveat being that the car must be used only for educational or show purposes. Sure. On the inspection front, I hate someone else getting all their greasy claws all over my car, repeatedly stalling the thing, restarting, adjusting the seat, etc. Don't get me started on the NJ DMV jokers......

$35.50 / yr NJ non-historic plates. Thanks for the tips up on the free reg every 4 years with historic plates. I might have to go that route once I look into better insurance. At least this state doesn't charge you for inspection. Still, I don't really want those guys messing with my car. It was pretty scarry seeing them put the front wheels of the other car with awd on the dynometer. And of course the turn signals on the 02 always give them trouble.

Forgot to mention that for $35.50 you don't even get a sticker. The cops can all just check your registration in their laptops now.

Try $570 AUD, here in Melbourne Australia, thats per year, no annual inspection, but includes injury insurance (not cars or property), you keep the same plates (standard issue or custom). You guys have it cheap. Beaner7102

The prev owner of the 67 I got recently was paying $3/year. DMV can't raise the fees once you are in the system and he had been paying $3 since 1970! I belive my new fee now is going to be $45 in CA...
