Front brakes

The calipers will drag if there's rust in the bores.  Mine did.  You can either scrape them clean (I did), or replace them.

The rubber flex lines can swell shut over time and not allow the pressure to bleed off as the pedal is released.  The pedal has the power to push fluid through, but then the pressure stays on.

any recommendations on where i can source those parts ?

Try RockAuto.com.

I bought the Centric loaded calipers (ATE), rear brake cylinders, rear shoes, and all 6 hoses (4 front, 2 rear) for my '76.

They also have Bosch rebuilt starters and alternators.

Very reasonable prices and fast delivery.

i think i'll start with new calipers and rotors

any recommendations on where i can source those parts ?

START with the hoses!!! Rubber is not forever.   If you don't know how old they are, replace them.   Hoses are a failure item that will kill you.
