2002 car history

I am looking for the individual that knows how to track the history of your car based on the VIN.  The seller of the 1976 2002 that I purchased said he has seen this before on 2002faq.

Go to the Registry section to see if your newly acquired car is there.  There's also someone on the FAQ that tracks 2002s as they change hands, so perhaps your car is in his data base...and I'll bet he or someone who knows him will respond to your post.

If your car is not there, please add it and email BMW Archives at info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com

Once you have more info from them, please, add the information to the listing.

I’m sure you might want to enlist the services of @02Les.

And email BMW Group Archives (hdz.info@bmwgroup.com) with your car’s VIN, and your engine’s engine number if it’s different from the VIN, and request their data on the car(s).

 

It’s a critical starting point.

 

But manage your expectations, because 7-digit VIN’s pre-date all the modern applications like Carfax! So tracking is limited to @02Les, and sheer luck.

 

Examine your car carefully, for service stickers, service plaques (as are often found on radiators), and receipts lost in inaccessible crevices!
