It's less a 'want' thing than a 'can'.

 

The 2002 heads are getting really hard to find, while

there were a LOT of 1.8i heads cast...

 

...and the low- compression open chamber is less prone to hot spots.

To have large valves and runners it as to be injection model - 1.8i - like Toby mentions. I don't know about Canada but in Europe there's a lot carbed 1.8 models that have same head as 1.6. Those don't have value much at all.
