Price: $52500
Location: Belmont, MA

Description:
I am 2 months away from heading to Florida and can't take all of my toys. I have sold my 1983 Henna 320is and now I will be selling my numbers matching 1973 Turkis 2002 Tii (no sunroof) Not a concourse vehicle.  Just a beautiful survivor that turns many heads. I am the 3rd owner. I did a voluntary PPI and this solid car does have some great qualities

3. 205
4. 220
It also has some minor mechanical issues that I will disclose in the spirit of transparency. I have a write up that I can send if you are a serious buyer along with the honest list of items to be addressed. This is the ultimate garage queen and I AM NOT looking for a massive number. I am looking for someone who can treat it more like an occasional driver than Old Ironsides. Last fall I had it sold for $70K but the deal fell through. I am willing to accept much less with the right buyer. I absolutely hate BAT and would never try to screw anyone on that site. You will know exactly what you're buying when you deal with me.  I have a full write up that I can send you.

REVISIONS:
I am the 3rd owner of this car. It is a rust free and numbers matching Tii which spent its entire life (prior to my purchase in 2016) on the west coast. The original owner was Jim Compo who owned the car for many years. Jim was a California based BMW parts and service owner. It was put into dry storage by him in the late 90's where it spent 12 years. It was purchased by a collector in Washington State in 2008 who did the frame on restoration with paint by Class and Kustom of Portland, OR. I purchased it from him in 2016 and did remaining interior restoration in Massachusetts. The restoration was extensive and expensive

I have a 74tii for sale. See my ad in classifieds.

Nick-

Very aware/familiar with it. My restored ‘74tii was badly rear-ended Sat. While I have Hagerty, not sure if they’re going to green light 35-40K in restoration bills to make it right again. We’ll see…

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
