Yeah, sonically not so good, but it never was. 8 tracks were about rapid song access and continuous driving tunes.

 

Cassettes sound way better.. but I don’t like to play ‘em much now cuz fragile.. so listening to these is digital now.

 

You can tell they had a hard life in the car.. Robin Trower pumped to 11 was the ticket!

I agree. But, it's the only one they really have worth listening to, kind of like Modern English from the 80s who only had the one hit, "I'll Stop the World and Melt With You".

 

There is a lot of great undiscovered and non-commercial stuff out there.
