For the tii?

 

The tii exhaust manifold heat shields, number 8 in the attached RealOEM.com listing, were NLA for nearly four decades. When I scored an NOS example in 2014 for my ‘73, it was a big win. Ray Korman, himself, saw it and said, “Wow: that’s a rare piece.”

 

One of the parts houses — Roger’s tii, perhaps — shows them on their website but has none in stock. RealOEM.com doesn’t list the part or its number. If they’re back in production, I suspect the supplies remain spotty.

Steve, I bought 2 no snorkel tii sheilds from Brecht BMW a couple of years ago so, figured they they were still available.  I should know better.

Steve, I just checked my past emails to Schomp BMW. In 2014 there were 20 heat shields in the US.  11 62 1 263 875

Interesting, Dan, and an old thread, from 2006, suggests they may or may not have been available at that time.

 

 

I’m now guessing they produced a batch of these at some point in the last 15 years and that 2014 inventory might have been the remnants of that batch...

 

Well, maybe....

Do any of you have a tii heat shield for sale?  I've checked Maximilian, Walloth, Rogers and RealOEM to no avail.  Or another source?
