Thanks.  I have seen similar write ups, I just couldn't tell from your picture what was included in your sale (mostly my fault as I am not a mechanic, so don't know exactly what I am looking at.).  I guess I am ultimately trying to determine if I will need to spend another, $100, $500, or $1,000+ to have all the necessary parts for the swap.   I'll try and do a little more research to educate myself.

I believe BMW of south atlanta has the bearings for the 245.

They (nor does any new parts supplier) have any new ones.  This is when MM and a few others start machining the box to fit a new dimension'd bearing.

 

Unfortunate situation, but not unheard of when dealing with used (ie core) parts.  Best of luck Paul, hopefully the original poster will offer some sort of partial compensation.  I'll be watching to see how @Wgmack handles this.

I spoke to Paul, the purchaser of the transmission, this morning.  I offered to make it right and I don’t think there are any hard feelings.  It sounded like he had a potential lead on a bearing from Europe.  I will be checking in with him again.
