Is this the correct Getrag 240 box for a 5 speed swap?

Good morning - trying to be diligent here but my googling doesn't have me feeling confident.

 

This would be for the '74 Tii with factory block.

That will work.  It is the early version with the speedo gear.

hopefully soon, gathering the parts first so far I have a used flywheel with clutch, shifter and the manual pedal box. Just need the slave/master with lines, and a 3 way or individual reservoir for fluid.

That's a 1983 E21 320 5 speed. It will work just fine, BUT you will 

end up with a longer driveshaft than the 1981-2 3- bolt driveshaft gets,

and with a different (3 bolt, not four bolt) flange from the 1980-1

5 speed.

 

Reyes, if you have an E30 gearbox from a US car, you won't have the

speedo drive I've marked in red, below.  This is only a problem if

you plan to run a mechanical speedo...

Does the 240/5 require modification of the tunnel?

It likely will fit as-is but can be exhaust dependent. I didn’t need to deal with tunnel issues on the ‘74Tii
