Captain Manly
Retro-fitting a Clardy set up and would like to know where does one bolt the interior assembly under the dash? And if there are any parts available for that or are they fabricated? BTW, if anyone has a console fascia (or mounting bracket parts) please let me know. TIA!! 2002
Here is how it mounts - from the Clardy installation manual!
Jbaumshelter
I didn't install mine but it wasn't mounted that way at all. Somebody actually screwed it into the heater box with some metal straps. Don't do it that way either. That heater box is really expensive to fix and the plastic cracks really easy. On the driver side they used a metal strap to connect it to the dash underneath and it seems fairly solid. Here is a pic of my setup. I am currently rebuilding my heater box or I would send you some pictures of the mounts.
Captain Manly
Actually I was ;looking for mounting points for the ac assembly behind the fascia. Thanks for the responses though. Justin
Conserv
Justin, I will dig out my original installation guide, but — contrary to what I recalled — the evaporator unit does hang by metal straps and a couple of screws from the heater housing. Here are a couple photos. Hey, 41 years ago, none of us — certainly including me — expected these cars to be alive and kicking into the 21st century....?
